Chapter Three

Anastasia's POV:

Rebekah took the dagger out of Nik and dropped it. Rebekah ran to her mother and hugged her, there were noticeable tears in her eyes. Esther hugged her daughter, holding her tight. They let go of each other and Rebekah looked at me. 

"Who's this?" She asked.

"Rebekah, this is Anastasia. Your bother's mate. And that is their child Evelyn." Esther said. 

"Impossible vampires can't procreate." Rebekah said. 

"Evelyn was conceived by a Cold One but Nik has taken the roll of her father and has done an excellent job at it." Esther said.

"Nik.. a father? Yeah right." Rebekah said.

"Rebekah, enough. Niklaus is a wonderful father to Evelyn." Esther said. Rebekah then touched her neck and panicked.

"Where's my necklace Nik!" She said.

"I don't know I didn't touch it." Nik said.

"I want my necklace! Where is it!" Rebekah said searching her coffin and as she couldn't find it she flipped it over in anger.

"Ah, why don't Esther, Evelyn and I take you shopping Rebekah and catch you up on the times." I suggest trying to calm her down. She looked at me and sighed, she then agreed. 

After catching Rebekah up and trying on many many clothes we head back to Gloria's with a very happy Rebekah. She enjoyed shopping very much. You could even say it was her favorite thing to do. We got Rebekah a cellphone and she loves it. Today was a rocky start but later on everyone was getting along. Evelyn and Rebekah grew close instantly. It warmed my heart. I could tell things were going to be okay. 

~Two years later~

Its been two years since Nik woke Esther and Rebekah. Evelyn is now eighteen, she's stopped growing. Rumor's of a doppelganger have surfaced, they say she's somewhere in Mystic Falls. Nik wants us to head there. He said he would join us when the time was right. So Esther, Rebekah, Evelyn, myself and my hybrids made our way to Mystic Falls. It was hard for Evelyn to say goodbye to Nik. She's a daddy's girl for sure. But Nik promised he would returned to us. I didn't know what the doppelganger would look like but Esther and Rebekah would know. 

Nik entrusted the rest of his siblings to me, I told him I would keep them safe. Once we arrived in Mystic Falls and to the house Nik bought for us I instantly safely had the coffins put in a room and had Esther spell the room shut where no one could get in. 

We unpacked our things and uncovered the furniture Nik bought for the house. 

"Well I don't know about you but I need a bite to eat." Rebekah said. Knowing she meant blood. 

"No killing anyone." Esther said. 

"I know mother." She replied. 

"Esther, Evelyn and I are going to go into town to check it out. Would you like to come with?" I asked her.

"No thank you dear, I'm going to stay here and put my grimoires away." She says. I nod and Evelyn and I head into town. 

"This town seems boring." Evelyn says as we making it into the town.

"Yeah well, it seems a lot better than Forks. That reminds me I need to call your grandfather." I say. 

"Does he know about me?" Evelyn asked. 

"No, I want to have that conversation in person." I say to my daughter. Evelyn and I park and get out. We spot this place called The Grill and decide to walk in their. When we walked in I felt this pulling sensation. I look around the room and there on the other side of the room stood this man in what seems to be a very expensive suit. He was talking to a group of people. 

He had turned to look at me and I was captivated by him. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He is very handsome, he gave me this smile and I couldn't help but smile back. 

"Ew mom really." Evelyn said. 

Elijah's POV:

The oldest Salvatore suggested dinner but I was distracted by the sudden pulling sensation. I turned around and found this beauty standing across the room. Her eyes were nothing I've ever seen before, brown with a hint of ruby red. She was beautiful, her skin was flawless and perfect. She was beyond perfect. After a thousand years I had finally found my mate. I give a smile and she smiles back.

"Ew mom really." I had heard the girl next to her say. The girl is her daughter? But my mate is so young? 

"So Elijah? How does it sound?" Damon said.

"Sorry, something had come up. Excuse me." I say as I walk up to my mate. 

"Hi." She said. 

"Hello, I'm Elijah." I say to her.

"Anastasia." She said. 

"Ah, hello?" The child next to her said.

"Right, this is my daughter Evelyn excuse her. It seems she's forgotten her manners." Anastasia said.

"That's alright, its a pleasure to meet you both." I say to the two of them.

"I should have went with Aunt Rebekah.." Evelyn mumbled. I quickly look at Evelyn a shocked look on my face. 

"I'm sorry did you say-" 

"I think this conversation is best said away from prying ears." She said as she motioned over at Damon who quickly looked away. 

"Right." I say. She grabbed a piece of paper and pen out of her bag and wrote on it.

"Meet me at this address we can talk there." She said and the two walked out. Could my sister really be awake? Did Niklaus lie when he said he threw them in the sea? Does this mean he's here in Mystic Falls? 

Anastasia's POV:

Evelyn and I arrive home and see Rebekah and Esther in the parlor room. How do I tell them that I ran into Elijah.. do I just come out with it?

"Esther.. Rebekah I need to tell you something." I say. 

"Yes?" Rebekah said.

"I just ran into Elijah..." I say leaving them speechless.

"He must be here protecting the doppelganger." Esther said. 

"That's not all... he's my mate.... and he'll be here any minute." I said. The two said nothing.

"Mated to both of my brothers.. you poor thing." Rebekah said. 

"Rebekah be nice." Esther said. It wasn't too long after when we heard a knock at the door. Every one looked at it. Esther and I went to answer it. When I opened it I opened it to where only he could see me. 

"Elijah." I said.

"Anastasia." He said. I then opened the door all the way and Elijah couldn't believe it. His mother was alive and standing before him.

"Mother." He said. 

"Elijah, please come in." She said. He hesitantly walk in. We lead him into the parlor were he saw Rebekah. Rebekah ran into Elijah's arms hugging her brother. 

"Niklaus lied." Elijah said.

"What?" I asked.

"He said he threw my siblings into the sea." Elijah said.

"You shouldn't know he was lying. He has anger issues, your his brother you should have known he was lying. I've known him for two years and I know when he's angry he says things he doesn't mean." I say to him.

"Who are you to my brother?" Elijah asked.

"Oh yes, do tell him Ana." Rebekah said.

"I'm his mate." I say.

"But your my mate... how is that even possible?" Elijah asked looking at Esther.

"Its happens but it is extremely rare." Esther said. 

"Does this mean I have to call him dad too?" Evelyn asked.
