It was the day of Halloween. like any other school, James Cook Junior High was supposed to celebrate the day of spooks. Instead, the school didn't have any intent of doing so because of possible budget restraints. Though there was no Halloween cheer, it was the day when Christine was gonna present to the entire school why she wants to be part of the Student Leadership Council. This was the day she prepared for, reciting lines, calm respectful gestures, and a convincing voice just to get in the council.
This is it, she'll go all out on the stage. Period 1 was over which meant that the Heeler and her friends had time to prepare. The group got together to talk to each other. "Okay, you've recited all your lines and you know all your hand gestures. They're perfectly timed and precise. If anything goes wrong, I'll be up on that stage standing up for you!" Mackenzie said to Christine. "You wouldn't! I hope you're joking." Christine replied. Mackenzie gave a confident grin to her. Christine started to feel concerned but she decided to chuckle it off. "You're gonna be alright! Mackenzie's probably joking. PROBABLY!" Jack said to the Heeler. "Well no matter what, just don't worry. Even if it doesn't work, we'll find another way..." Rusty said.
All of a sudden, the sound of leaves crushing started to get louder and closer to the group which alarmed them.
"Well Well...  ain't it the Fab 7?"
The bullies from the past few days walked up to the group. Jake was taunting them as he walked towards them.
"Look at that! Trying to do something! Get your body off the couch and on to the stage where you'll embarrass yourself!" Zach exclaimed.
"Watch it! You'll never know if we win! Just be careful with what you say." Judo said.
"Or you'll do what against Hercule's bad boys we call muscles?!" Dan taunted.
"Maybe I'll let Pretzel and Winton do the talking, at least they have a few toys in their backpack and at least they have lives!"  The Chow Chow said. Jake's face immediately turned red before clenching his fists. The Mastiff raised his arms up before shooting it forward to the Chow Chow.

Whack!

A small wooden boy smacked the Mastiff's hand out of the way. "Ow! What was that for?!"
"For her safety? Duh!" Winton shouted out.
Winton tossed the Kendama back to Pretzel as the Chihuahua clenched on it.
"Be careful with what you say Winton! Judo doesn't seem interested!" Pretzel shouted out.
"I'll get you! Argh!!" Jake shouted. He tried to raise his arms back up before Zach stopped him.
"Don't worry about them now, we can't just cut to the chase because you want to. We need to see them fail..." Zach said to Jake. Jake sighed angrily and then stomped off without a word. Zach stayed behind as the rest of his friends walked away with Jake. He bent down to the group before he spoke. "Now listen closely, you better keep that speech in your head because if you fail to get in that stupid council, you're a goner. Got it?" Christine gulped before nodding. Zach walked away with grin as he caught up with the group. Christine sat on the nearby bench in sweat. Mackenzie sat down with her as the rest watched. "Christine, are you okay?" He asked. The Heeler didn't speak but only nodded a no.
Mackenzie started to pat Christine on her back to calm her down. "Look, you can't let them get you down. You need to fight back. Don't be scared, I'm here with you okay?" Christine looked up at Mackenzie before laying back on the bench.
"I understand what you're trying to do Mackenzie, but you heard what they said! They're gonna hurt us." Christine exclaimed.
Mackenzie got closer to Christine.
"We've came this far because of you Christine, this is it. You wanted to make a change and this is your chance. You'll be okay and we're gonna pull this off no matter what!" Mackenzie said.
Christine started to shed tears as she started to slowly smile. "Maybe I can do it. I practiced all this time and I'm not gonna throw it all away." Christine sighed before wiping the tears off her face. "Thanks Mackenzie..." The Heeler said as she hugged him. "Alright, bell's gonna ring! Let's keep it going!" Mackenzie said. Christine stopped hugging him as they both got off the bench hand in hand. "
This is becoming too much to handle!"
Winton exclaimed.
"That's teenage years to you Winton! It's full of twist and turns that will break your neck mentally! Puberty is bliss and horrifying!"
Rusty said. The rest followed into the auditorium.
