Y/N was walking on the sidewalk in blackwater, as the sun beamed down into her eyes. She was walking to the general store to grab some snacks for her horse. She walked into the store greeting the store keeper and making her way over to the vegetables. She looks at the corn and apples thinking what to get for her horse. While she was looking at the vegetables a man walks in. He had a light brown jacket on, a white button up shirt, dirty jeans that has seen better days. Dark brown hair that almost went to his shoulders. He also had a red bandana around his neck. And he had a small goatee. He greeted the store keeper and walked over to the beers and canned foods. She watches him as he grabs some cigarettes and whiskeys. She looks back at the vegetables when he turned around facing her. She continues to look at the vegetables pretending like she just wasn't analyzing him. She looks at the cabbages thinking what to get for her horse til she hears the mans boots tapping onto the wooden floor closer, and closer to her. He clears his throat before speaking. "Can you hand me a carrot ma'm." He says with his raspy but almost soothing voice. She doesn't look at him but instead hands him a carrot and she also grabs some cabbages, carrots, and some oatmeal as well and makes her way to the store keeper. She begins to set everything down on the counter and takes the rest of her money out. "$12.02" the store keeper said. Y/N only had $10.02. "Uh..." She says looking down at her money. The man from earlier puts down the money she needed and waits behind her patiently to pay for his stuff. She looks confused and looks behind her and now looking up at the man. "Thank you mister." She says before handing the store keeper the money. "Anytime ma'am." He says tilting his hat forward. The store keeper puts the money in the register and Y/N walks out with her stuff and begins to walk over to her horse feeding him the cabbage. "You like that?" She says with a soft smile creeping onto her face. Her horse finishes the cabbage while Y/N pats his head. She puts the rest of the stuff in the satchel on her horse and climbs on and makes her way to the gunsmith to look at the guns.

She slowly gets off her horse and walks into the gunsmith looking around at the guns displayed on the walls and in the glass gun holders behind the gunsmith. "Welcome. Look around or buy something you may like."

"Oh I'm just looking. I don't have any money for myself at the moment." She replies looking at the ammo. She soon walks out and walks over to the saloon. She saw the man from earlier. Playing poker. She didn't stare at him but glanced. But for a quick second they made eye contact. She made her way over to the bartender and asked for a shot of whiskey. She downs the shot of whiskey and sits at a table close to the piano listening to it as she pulls her journal out, flipping to an empty page and begins to write. She mainly likes to write about how her days have been going or to let whatever it is on her mind out in a piece of paper.

It has been a beautiful morning. Birds are singing, animals are dancing in the long grass and between the trees. It's so perfect today. Finally got to buy some food for my horse. Some gentleman helped me. I wonder what his name is?  Oh well. It's not like I'll ever talk to him again right? Then I went to look at the guns at the gunsmith in blackwater. I didn't buy anything I'm not really an expert at shooting guns. And I don't think I'll ever be an expert either. Unless someone teaches me. But I guess I'll have to wait til that day comes. But for now I guess I'll just do what I always do. Take care of my house, my horses, my dogs, and the flowers growing around my house.

Its not a fancy house but my pa built it for me before I moved out. God I miss him. My mother lives in Saint Denis and so do my 2 younger brothers. I don't see them anymore. But my mom was the main one to teach me how to take care of myself  when I started to become a woman. Like sewing my own clothes, washing dishes, drying my clothes, etc. My dad taught me how to fish, hunt, and grow a garden. But ever since his passing. I left that stuff he taught me behind because when I tried to do it I would just think about him and just cry. I go to his grave every weekend, and clean it for him every month. And I placed a new flower every month as well when I'm cleaning it.

She puts her initials on the bottom of the paper and closes her journal putting it back in her satchel. When she looked up, she saw the man from earlier sitting at her table. She jumped and put her hand on her chest. "Oh goodness you scared me. How long we're you sitting there?"

"When you started writing in your journal." He says before taking a sip of his bottle of beer. "What was you writing?" He says looking at her. He looked mean but his voice sounded so sweet and smooth. "O-oh uh..i just write bout my day and what i might be doing today. I also like to sketch nature or towns. Or people." She says looking at him with soft smile. Her eyes was as green as emeralds, and had a tint of brown. They was as green as nature. 'Her eyes are so beautiful I've never seen anyone with that color of green eyes before.' He thinks to himself almost admiring her. He snaps out of it. But his face was a tint of pink. "So uh, whats your name?" "Jack. Jack Marston." He says before taking another sip into the bottle of beer. He finishes the bottle and places it on the table. "Marston?" Y/N questions like she's heard that last name before. "Yea. Marston." Jack says before rotating his head to crack his neck. They talk for awhile, Jack talking about guns and stuff similar to that. While Y/N talks bout nature, animals and stuff similar as well. "Well, one day. Could You teach me how to shoot a gun? I haven't got to shoot one ever since i was just a little gal." She says with a nervous chuckle. "You've never, actually held a gun recently?" Jack ask Y/N with a slight concern on his face. 'She's never gonna survive out here if she don't know how to properly handle a gun.' He says to himself before she replied. "Nope, i'm actually surprised i'm even still alive."

"Yea same-." Jack mumbles to himself. "Huh?" "Nothing. Anywho! I can teach you tomorrow. If you're up to it." Jack says scratching his cheek and goes back looking at her. Some reason he couldn't take his eyes off her. He didn't know what he was feeling at the moment. But it made him feel tingly inside. "Y-yea that's fine. What time though?" "Probably in the afternoon. I need my beauty sleep." She chuckles at his words when he said that. "Well I need to get going. I can't stay here forever." He says getting up. "O-oh uh. Ok. See you tomorrow then." She says with a soft wave and a smile. He tilts his hat forward and walks out.

Time skips by and it's almost night time. Y/N was at her house cleaning up from dinner. She goes to her room with her dog rosie following her. She gets changed into something comfortable for bed and sits on her bed. Her dog jumps onto her bed, getting comfortable on Y/N blankets and Y/N grabs her journal from beside her bed on a night stand and begins to draw rosie cuddled up in her blankets. After a while, she finishes and puts it away and lays down covered up. But she couldn't get Jack out her mind. 'Where have i heard Marston before?' She continues to think to herself. After a while she forgets about it and falls asleep.
