The awards ceremony was a momentous occasion filled with excitement and anticipation. As we arrived, the flashing cameras felt like a blur of paparazzi capturing our every move. Walking hand in hand with my wife, Tiana, on the red carpet, I couldn't help but feel proud to have her by my side.

Inside the venue, we were seated at a table with my colleagues, including the notorious Melissa. I could sense Tiana's reluctance towards Melissa, but I reassured myself of her trust in me. Despite Melissa's lingering presence, I made it clear that Tiana was my priority and that I had no interest in anyone else.

I politely gestured for my wife to take a seat among my colleagues.
"Hello team, I'd like you all to meet my wife, Tiana. Tiana, these are my colleagues," I introduced.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Campbell," the team echoed in unison, except for Melissa.
"Nice to meet you all," my wife replied warmly to everyone but Melissa.
"It's nice to meet you, too, Melissa Ascella Stewart," Tiana said with a sly smile.
"Wait, your name is Ascella, like armpit in Italian?" Josh exclaimed, as laughter erupted from the group.
Unfazed, Tiana continued, "Oh, your colleagues didn't know. My apologies if I caught you off guard. It's actually a lovely name, quite fitting, in fact." Her remark was aimed directly at Melissa, who now looked shocked and seething with anger. I could sense a storm brewing, and I wasn't about to let it unfold in front of my wife.Neither was I going to have my wifes night ruined because of some stupid girl.

In a bold tone, I sternly commanded, "Melissa, head over to the drinks table and serve yourself a beverage," causing a hush to fall upon the room. Without resistance, Melissa rose from her seat and departed, complying with my request.

Turning my attention to my wife, I inquired, "My love, is there anything you'd like?"
She graciously declined, expressing, "No, thank you, my love. The light snack has sufficed. I will just step away to the restroom."

I need to talk to Melissa and tell her to keep her distance. I don't like not being trusted by my loved one.I don't like having Tiana lose her trust in me especially over some girl who I don't even like.

"Okay," I said, kissing her on the cheek.

"Ouuuuuuuuu," my team cooed, making my wife and me burst out in laughter.
Once she was out of sight, I sat down and checked my phone for any updates on next month's mission and the murder case of that bitch.

"I hope this doesn't sound disrespectful, but it's nice to see this side of you," Josh said before getting a smack on the back of the head from Deja.

"Ouch. Why did you do that?" he hissed, making me chuckle a little.

"It's okay, Ms. Williams. Mr. Miller, what do you mean by 'this side of me'?" I asked, seeing him gulp nervously. The whole table was silently listening to our conversation, some giving looks of disapproval and fear, as commenting or talking to me this freely rarely existed within the walls of my building. I mean, I am their boss, not their friend. But I do make sure I am kind because, as you know, everyone is trying their best after all.And a great work environment is one filled with kindess and consideration.
"It's good to see how happy your wife is and how happy she makes you," he stuttered as he anxiously answered.
"She does, doesn't she?" I said, ending the conversation and cutting him some slack.

My phone rang.
I stood up and left to go answer my phone outside.
