Akk was almost always grumpy like his father. It's like the only quality he achieved from his dad was that he was obedient and smart academically. He didn't like to disappoint people he loved. That's why, he was always willing to do anything to make his loved ones proud.

But that often meant that he had to sacrifice his own way of thinking. His own uniqueness. He always underestimated himself.

He put too much pressure on himself for being perfect, being the perfect student president and the head of the student prefects. It was tiring. He didn't have time for himself or to think more about his feelings for... Aye.

That day, when he walked out of Ayan's grip like that, he felt guilty. But to him, it was for the best. He didn't like to hurt Aye but he had to. He should have kept his distance from Aye instead of getting to know him at first. But he couldn't.

Ayan was a troublemaker and Akk was the school president. Why should there be a connection between two opposing sides of the world?

"Here's your coffee," The recipient standing on the cash counter mumbled, getting Akk back to reality.

"Thank you." Akk took over the coffee cup while handing the payment to the lady. He bowed his head in a respectful manner and walked away from the shop.

Before Akk was about to walk his way back to his house, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around immediately, almost freaking out until he realized it was Kan. "Ai'Kan!" He whined. "What are you doing here?" Asked Akk.

Kan looked around and murmured in a subtle tone, "This is my relative's place. I was just here to visit with someone."

"You almost scared me there. But who are you here with?" Akk asked. Kan's lips curled up in a small smile before he leaned in and turned back towards the cafe. He pointed to someone sitting there alone, sipping a coffee. "Ai'Thua?" Akk exclaimed in surprise.

"Um! We're just here to do the report," Kan replied, his hand lifted up to run through his own hair.

"Since when do you actually do reports?" Akk asked, raising his brow in slight suspicion. His eyes rolled small.

"Just forget it. What about you? I saw Ayan a few hours ago with the jums," Kan stated. Ayan was the troublemaker and Kan was one of the prefects which obviously resulted in Kan too trying to watch out for Aye about what he was doing.

"Akk, I'm worried about you. I think you shouldn't get too close to him," Kan continued, his hand landed on Akk's shoulder as a concerned pat.

"You're always a coward. Nothing will happen," Akk replied, brushing the hand off of his shoulder. Honestly, he was fed up. He was fed up with how Wat and Kan always treated him like he was a baby, like he couldn't take care of himself. Yes, he wasn't the smartest person alive but he could take care of himself. He was just... scared. Scared of the consequences, scared of what would happen if he didn't do that, if he didn't find out what Aye was up to.

"Okay. Just be careful then." Kan nodded his head, his eyes closing for a second to calm himself down. After opening his eyes, he sighed slowly and his lips tilted to form a smile. He waved to Akk before turning away and walking back to the table where Thua was sitting.

Akk smiled back and walked away. His smile looked strange, probably because he had just learnt to understand that Kan could be right to some extent, that maybe he was really just worried. As a friend, it was indeed Kan's responsibility to inform Akk and warn him about danger.

The whole way home, Akk thought about the conversation, about Ayan. He didn't know who to believe. Yes, Aye was shady at times but if he really was involved with things then how come Akk hadn't been able to find out even after staying close to Aye for 4 months?

At that point, Akk had started to believe that there was nothing suspicious about Ayan. His heart was already trying to convince his brain.

After Akk arrived at his house, without even giving a glance to his parents sitting on the couch, he walked straight towards his bedroom. He threw himself on the bed as if exhausted and let out a long sigh.

After staying like that for a few seconds, he sat up and took out his phone. Scrolling through Instagram, his eyes landed on a livestream. It was the three jums live streaming their protests.

He opened the live stream and listened to their protests. "We want freedom! We want freedom!" The protesters yelled out loud.

Sometimes Akk had felt like these protests were all targeted towards him, as if someone was testing his ability as the head of the prefect club. He found it too much of a coincidence that these protests started only a week after he became the head of the prefect club.

Even though there was a huge reason why the students were so much against him. Akk's father, Pete, was a big investor of the school which even though brought many opportunities for Akk, the other students took it as nepotism. It wasn't like he was the school president or the head of the prefect because of his father, but it didn't matter how much he tried to prove himself that he didn't get those titles just because of his father, he failed.

But Akk wished that was the only reason because it was not. Minority of the students were always against his power but now, the way it had turned to majority of the students was his own fault.

The protests did indeed start against the strict rules and lack of freedom of speech against the Suppalo but somehow, it seemed like it had turned into a protest against the prefect club, the student council and the teachers of the school.

After thoroughly checking through the livestream, Akk noticed a familiar face in the crowd of students. The short figure of his 'enemy', Ayan, was standing still through the crowd, not a single word coming out of his mouth as he stood there, crossing his arms just above his stomach.

Akk swiftly pressed his phone's power button and volume button together to take a screenshot. Once done, he closed down the livestream. Stumbling his phone to find Line and message Kan.

Kan

The jums are protesting again!

Do you think we should do something?

What can we do? Do you want to go there?

Going there won't help. We can't stop them anyway.

Then what do you want me to do?

Check the livestream. See if there's anything you can report against.

And what are you going to do?

I'm watching it too. The rest is on Ayan.

Okay. Be careful.

To Be Continued.....

A/n: Akk's still confused. His heart says to do something but his brain says another. But he can't follow either. Whenever he chooses to follow his brain, his heart attacks him and vice versa. It's been obviously hard. He has no idea what Ayan's trying to do.
