It had been about a month now since Nycole, and Emma, finally moved all the way into Kakashi's apartment. Also within the past month, Nycole started her new job at Mr. Udon's shop after his daughter went off to college. Nycole sadly had to say goodbye to Mr. Yoshi, but he was happy to see her move on to better things. Not only was Nycole now the second-in-command at Mr. Udon's, she was also a waitress now. When she wasn't busy taste testing the soups, she was waiting tables and serving dishes to their customers. Things have been going well so far for Nycole. Not only was her job going well, but her training is going well too. She has gotten much stronger since her first day and she actually knows how to defend herself for the most part now. Kakashi was able to help her train more outside of class to help catch her up to the level of the other students in her class. He has also been the perfect boyfriend she could ever ask for. Kakashi has been more open to going out and showing himself in public with her more. In fact, Kakashi told Nycole that he planned to stop by for lunch today after his morning class.
Lunchtime came around faster than Kakashi thought it would. His morning class finally ended and he was able to quickly change his clothes before heading out to Mr. Udon's shop. He locked up his DoJo behind him and started walking into town. He made his way past a few shops with a big smile on his face. His mind was occupied with thoughts about Nycole and her adorable smile. Her kindness filled his heart, which was also making him smile. A few passersby would give him some weird looks, but they mostly left him alone. Kakashi could also hear some faint whispers asking about why he was smiling, but he ignored them.
Kakashi soon arrived at Mr. Udon's and made his way inside. As soon as he came through the door, Nycole spotted him from across the shop. "Please, have a seat anywhere. I'll be with you shortly." She said, sending a subtle wink to him. Her face was also plastered with a goofy smile as she nodded for him to sit. Kakashi smiled at her giddy nature and nodded to her. "Yes ma'am. Thank you." He said before sitting up at the front counter. As soon as he sat down, Mr. Udon came over to him. "Well, Kakashi. It's been awhile, hasn't it?" He asked, a calm smile on his face. Kakashi looked up to Mr. Udon and sighed softly. "Yeah. It has. But it's not like that was my fault." He said before looking back down. "Hey, you're the one that gave me reason. Don't try to say none of it was your fault." Mr. Udon said. "Whatcha talking about?" Nycole asked as she practically skipped over to Kakashi's side. She gently placed her hand on his lower back and rubbed small circles into his back. Kakashi smiled softly and leaned into her touch. He then looked to her and laid his head down on her shoulder. "Oh, nothing. He was just acknowledging that's it's been awhile since I've been here." He said. Nycole chuckled a little and ruffled Kakashi's hair a little with her other hand and allowed him to lean on her. "I see. Well, what you should be talking about is what you want for lunch." She said, hooking a finger under his chin and making him look at her. "That way I can go make it for you and join you for my lunch too." She said and Kakashi felt his heart melt. "Yes ma'am." He said and Mr. Udon cleared his throat. Kakashi looked to Mr. Udon and saw that he had his arms crossed and his face looked rather unhappy. "Nycole? Could you give us a moment alone please?" Mr. Udon asked, his eyes not moving away from Kakashi. Nycole looked to Mr. Udon and sighed softly. "Yeah. I'll be back." She said before going to check on her tables.
Mr. Udon sighed again and shook his head. "You've got her completely fooled, don't you?" He asked and Kakashi gave him a look of confusion. "I'm sorry?" He asked. Mr. Udon scoffed a little and rolled his eyes. "Oh, please. I'm not buying that. I know what you're up to and I'm not going to let you continue." He said. "What are you talking about, Udon? If you're talking about Nycole, then what you think you know is wrong." Kakashi said, shaking his head. "Really? Because it looks to me like she actually cares about a monster like you." Mr. Udon said and Kakashi clenched his jaw. He flicked his eye up to look at him and tried his best to stay calm. "Watch it, Udon. I told you I'm not a monster." Kakashi warned. "Well, I'd say leading her on and then walking all over her...that seems like something only a monster would do." Mr. Udon said, a slight smirk creeping onto his lips. Kakashi felt a fire burning inside him at this point, but he knows Mr. Udon is just trying to toy with him. "Actually, Mr. Udon. You have it all wrong. I..." Kakashi paused for a moment and relaxed his face and his anger. "I love her, Udon...she's changed me. She saved me..." He said, his eye lost in a daze as he stared at the wall behind Mr. Udon. "You really think I'm going to believe that crap?" Mr. Udon said before slamming his hands on the counter and leaning over it to get close to Kakashi's face. "She would be happier if you left her alone!" He exclaimed and Kakashi had to bite his tongue to resist the urge to punch him in the face. "That's enough!" Nycole exclaimed as she came over to them and pushed Mr. Udon away from Kakashi. "What is wrong with you, Mr. Udon? Why do you hate him so much?" She asked and Mr. Udon sighed and crossed his arms. "I'll let him tell you. You wouldn't believe me anyways. You didn't even listen to my warning about him." Mr. Udon said before disappearing into the kitchen.
