"Come on Alex! Time to get up!" I heard someone say in front of me. I was too tired to even bothering replying let alone trying to get up.
"Alex! Seriously, Let's go!" I still didn't open my eyes, but I finally found it in me to speak to whoever it was who was trying to awaken me.
"What time is it?" I asked tiredly.
"5 AM. Told you we would be up bright and early for training." The person said, laughing a little at the last part.
"There is no way I'm getting up." I mumbled.
A minute had passed in silence, so I began to just assume that whoever it was trying to wake me up had left. That was, until I felt someone jumping on my bed. In an attempt to get them to stop, I threw a pillow at the person as they jumped while I still refused to open my eyes. As they continued to jump, they tripped on my foot and fell right on top of me.
"Seriously?!" I said as I finally pried my eyes open to see who had fallen on me. I was surprised o see Cole's face just inches away from mine. Neither of us made an effort to move. His eyes seemed to be finding their way into my soul through my eyes again as we stayed there.
It felt like a whole century had passed before he finally stood up and offered a hand to help me up. It was a really strange few minutes, but for some odd reason, I felt like it was perfect and I could stay there forever like we were the only two people in the world.
"You ready for training?" Cole asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I redirected my gaze up from the floor to his face. "Not really." I told him tiredly.
"That's just the sleep talking." Cole chuckled a little before adding, "Just wait until we get out to the course; you'll be wide awake then."
********
We arrived at the course after a nice walk. It actually felt really good outside right now. It's like the island is temperature controlled. Well, it might be considering this island contains people capable of doing that. If I remember correctly from the conversation I had with my dad, this island was created by my dad as an escape for all of us. A place where we were safe and could train and live in peace. The island wasn't visible to the human eye; only to other vindicoes.
It was also kind of strange how close Cole walked next to me the whole time. Every step we took, our shoulders would brush against each other. Cole had been acting strange since last night when he kissed me on the cheek, then ran off to his treehouse before I even had a chance to react. What's even weirder is that every time his arm brushed against mine, it felt like there was a jolt of electricity going through my arm and it sent chills throughout my whole body.
"So, to start off, you need to actually learn how to use your special powers before you can go through the course." Cole stated as he pointed towards the course beside us.
"Alright. And how do we do that?" I asked nervously. "I thought that wasn't something that we even discover until we need to use it to save our lives."
"Correct." He began to get an evil looking smirk across his face. "Which is why we purposely put ourselves in danger during training so our special ability will be triggered." Cole added, slowly walking toward me. I slowly backed away as he tried to get closer to me.
"Luckily, I already know most of your powers since you have the same abilities as everyone on this island. It's your unique power that will be tricky to figure out." He still was inching towards me slowly.
