Asteria had allowed herself to be drug to Hogsmeade with Lily, Marlene Dorcas and Pandora. Asteria was surprised that Lily was friendly with Slytherins.
Lily lifted her face toward the falling snow and smiled. Asteria watched her with a content smile. I'm glad that I met her. She is an amazing friend. Asteria's heart squeezed at the thought of leaving her. This was why she was against making friends.
"You have lovely hair Asteria." Asteria turned to Pandora and offered a polite smile.
"Thank you, Pandora." Pandora smiled at her curiously and turned her attention to the loud noise behind them.
Asteria glanced behind her, and she mentally cursed at the sight of Barty and Bellatrix staring at her. These morons weren't seriously going to try and take me right now? With all these people around?
Lily scoffed and linked her arm through Asteria's and pulled her along. Asteria cut her eyes around them as they walked down the street. Making sure that no one was following them.
Lily pulled them into the three broomsticks and Asteria sighed as the warmth rushed her half-frozen face. Lily chuckled softly and led them over to a booth. The girls crammed into the bench, huddled together to get more warmth.
A server came and got their orders, and Lily had ordered for them. Not that Asteria minded she hated talking to people that she didn't know.
"So, I have to know. Asteria how is a pretty girl like you still single." Asteria's head snapped toward Marlene and her face flushed.
"What?!" Marlene gave a smug smile and glanced at Dorcas who was smirking at her too.
"You and Regulus aren't together." Lily chimed in. Asteria inhaled a deep breath and then let out a clipped sigh.
"The boy that I was seeing before I transferred...he was unlike anyone that I had ever met. He was serious and distant. But he was gentle and protective. I thought that he cared for me. But not enough to stop his pursuit for The Dark arts." Lily's smile faltered and the girls glanced between one another before Lily reached over and took Asteria's hand.
"I am so sorry Ari. We shouldn't have brought it up." Asteria shook her head and smiled.
"No, it's fine. It was actually nice to say it out loud to someone." Pandora tilted her head at Asteria and smiled sadly.
"You still love him." Asteria cleared her throat and looked down at her hands. Lily sighed and wrapped her arm around Asteria's shoulders giving her a gentle squeeze.
"It's okay to not be over him right now. It's still new to you. And your feeling are valid. It will take time for you to get over them."
Asteria wanted to laugh out loud. The irony of that statement. Asteria knew that Lily wouldn't feel that way if she actually knew who Asteria was talking about.
"Lily, your gifts and the boys should be arriving tomorrow." Lily smiled brightly and tilted her head at Asteria
"You got us gifts?".
Asteria giggled and shook her head.
"Of course I got you gifts." Lily eyed her for a moment before she leaned closer to her.
"Remus was right it seems like you are saying good-bye." Asteria forced an easy-going smile.
"You and Remmi worry too much. And you are over thinking this. I'm not going anywhere I promise." She lied. Asteria glanced up at the clock and gasped.
"Crap! I'm late I promised Regulus that I would meet him in the library." Lily scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"I wish that you and Regulus would just get together already!" Asteria snorted. If only that would solve all my problems. She removed herself from the booth and shook out her hands nervously as she made her way out of the three broomsticks.
The streetlamps were lit now, and the walkway was nearly empty. Asteria could feel eyes on her as she began walking back to the castle. Then she veered off to the left entering the Forbidden Forest. She knew that she was being followed and yet her heart remained at a steady pace.
Asteria could see movement out of the corner of her eye, and she smirked. They couldn't possibly be afraid of little old me, could they? Amused Asteria stopped walking and pulled her wand from her sleeve and tossed it several feet in front of her, holding her hands up.
Bellatrix and Barty stepped out of the shadows. Barty picked up Asteria's wand and pocketed it. Asteria smirked as they looked at her in confusion.
"Well do as your told. Take me to Tom." Bellatrix's eyes flashed with anger as she took a step toward Asteria.
"He said unharmed Bella! If you touch her, he will kill you."
