It’s a lazy afternoon at home, and you and Hoseok are lounging around the living room when suddenly, he perks up with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“How about we have a little dance battle?” he suggests, stretching his arms above his head with a wide grin.

You raise an eyebrow, smirking. “Hobi, really? A dance battle with you? You do realize you’re a professional dancer, right?”

Hoseok laughs, leaning forward with a playful challenge in his voice. “Come on! It’s not about being the best, it’s about having fun! Plus, I’ll go easy on you, I swear.” His playful attitude makes it hard to say no.

Reluctantly, you agree, but not without a dramatic sigh. “Alright, fine. But remember, I’m no match for ‘J-Hope’ of BTS.”

He stands up, rubbing his hands together like he’s preparing for a real competition. “Oh, I’ll take it easy on you. I’ll only bring half of J-Hope’s moves,” he says with a teasing wink.

You scroll through your playlist and choose a high-energy pop song that’s upbeat enough for dancing but not too intimidating. As soon as the music starts, Hoseok gestures for you to take the lead, grinning like a proud teacher.

You try your best to keep up with the beat, moving awkwardly around the room, but you can feel the clumsiness creeping in. Hoseok stands off to the side, arms crossed, watching with that infamous wide smile plastered across his face. “Not bad, not bad,” he comments, but you can see the laughter threatening to spill out.

As you attempt a half-hearted spin, your foot catches the edge of the coffee table, and you stumble, nearly crashing into the couch. Hoseok doubles over, cackling. “Oh my God! You said I’m the professional, but you’re killing it!”

You groan, cheeks flushing red. “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. I told you I wasn’t built for this!”

He walks over and claps you on the back. “Alright, I’ll stop laughing. Now let the master show you how it’s done.”

Hoseok steps into the middle of the room, rolling his shoulders like he’s warming up for a big performance. The music kicks back in, and in one fluid motion, he launches into his routine. His feet glide across the floor effortlessly, his arms and body moving in perfect sync with the beat. He spins, pops, and locks like it’s second nature to him, completely in his element.

You stand there, arms crossed, watching in awe. “Seriously, how are you so smooth? It’s like you’re floating.”

He laughs but keeps going, tossing a wink your way. “Years of practice! And just a little bit of natural charm.”

But then, just as he’s about to finish with a dramatic spin, his foot catches on the edge of the rug. He yelps in surprise as he loses his balance and crashes onto the couch with a loud thud.

You burst into laughter, clutching your stomach as Hoseok groans from his spot on the couch, rubbing the back of his head. “I… I meant to do that,” he says, barely holding back his own laughter.

You can’t stop giggling as you walk over to help him up. “Oh, sure you did, Mr. Professional! All that talk and you still managed to trip over the rug.”

Hoseok pulls himself up, shaking his head in disbelief. “Okay, I’ll admit it. Maybe I got a little too cocky there.”

“Looks like we’re both disaster dancers today,” you tease, wiping a tear from your eye from laughing so hard.

“Hey, at least we had fun, right?” Hoseok says, ruffling your hair before plopping back down on the couch, still grinning like a kid.

You flop down beside him, both of you still chuckling as the music fades. The dance-off might not have gone as planned, but in the end, it was one of those hilarious moments that you’ll both laugh about for years to come.
