The sound of raindrops pattering against the window creates a soothing backdrop as you and Jungkook engage in a competitive gaming session. The air is filled with laughter and playful banter as you each try to outscore the other. Just as you’re about to claim victory, Jungkook pauses the game, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.
“Hey,” he starts, glancing around the room, “do you remember our first gaming marathon?”
You nod, a smile creeping onto your face. “How could I forget? You got so mad when I beat you in that racing game.”
“I was five!” he protests, playfully swatting your arm. “You cheated, and you know it!”
“Totally did not,” you laugh, enjoying the shared memory.
As the rain continues to fall, a moment of silence passes between you. Jungkook’s expression shifts from playful to reflective. “I’ve been thinking…”
“About what?” you ask, curious.
“About how things are changing now that you’re going off to college,” he replies, his tone serious. “I mean, it’s gonna be weird without you around all the time.”
You nod, the reality of it hitting you. “Yeah, I know. I’ll miss you too.”
He hesitates for a moment before standing up and walking toward his bedroom. You watch him curiously, wondering what he’s up to. When he returns, he’s holding a slightly battered old skateboard—the one you both used to ride together in the neighborhood when you were kids.
“Remember this?” Jungkook asks, holding it out to you.
Your eyes widen in surprise. “Of course! We had so many good times on that thing.”
“Yeah,” he chuckles, a nostalgic smile on his face. “I figured I should give it to you before you leave. It’ll remind you of all our adventures and the times we spent together.”
“Jungkook,” you say, feeling a mix of emotions. “Are you sure? You loved that skateboard.”
“Yeah,” he insists, though you can see a hint of reluctance in his eyes. “But I want you to have it. Whenever you’re feeling homesick or miss me, just ride it around and think of our crazy times.”
You reach out to take the skateboard, a warm smile spreading across your face. “Thank you. This means so much to me.”
“Just promise you won’t wreck it,” he teases, trying to lighten the mood. “I’ve had enough of you crashing into things.”
You roll your eyes, laughing. “I’ll take care of it! No crashes, I promise.”
With the skateboard now resting beside you, you dive back into the gaming session, your spirits lifted by the unexpected gesture.
As the afternoon drifts on, you feel the weight of Jungkook’s gift—a symbol of your shared childhood and the bond that will continue to connect you, no matter the distance.
“Hey, what if we do a rematch?” you suggest, determined to reclaim your title.
“You’re on! But this time, no cheating!” he challenges, his competitive spirit ignited once more.
The two of you dive into another round of gaming, the rain continuing to fall outside, but inside, the warmth of sibling love and laughter fills the air.
As the day winds down, you find comfort in knowing that no matter where life takes you, you’ll always carry a piece of your past with you—skateboard in hand and memories in your heart.
