Heroes Aren't Perfect; The Flash's Biggest Mistake? It's Not What You Think.

By Rachel Anderson

There's a lot of buzz surrounding the new superhero in town—The Flash. Some people are calling him a hero, others are skeptical, and a few are even waiting for the day he slips up. As someone who's been saved by him not once, but twice, I can say this: if you're waiting for a scandalous story about some colossal mistake he's made, you're going to be disappointed.

The truth is, everyone makes mistakes. Yes, even superheroes. Even someone with the power to run faster than the eye can see is still, at their core, human. You might think someone with that kind of speed and power would be untouchable, flawless, but that's just not the case. The Flash may be meta-human, but he's not perfect. And honestly, why should we expect him to be?

If you came here expecting me to expose some deep, dark secret about this so-called hero, you won't find it. What you will find, though, is something that might matter even more: the truth about my own mistakes. The truth I've never shared before.

Years ago, I made a decision I've regretted every day since. There was a boy—quiet, different, misunderstood. I let everyone believe he was someone he wasn't. I made a choice out of fear and insecurity that hurt him in ways I couldn't take back. I allowed a lie to grow because it was easier than telling the truth, and it destroyed his reputation. What's worse is that he never deserved it.

I won't go into details, and I won't name names—for their privacy, as much as my own—but I owe it to all of you, and especially to that person, to be honest now. If you've ever been the victim of a lie, you know how hard it is to live with. And if you've ever been the one telling the lie, you know how it eats at you every day. I was that person, and I regret it.

So, no, you're not going to read some juicy exposé about the Flash's so-called "biggest mistake." Instead, you're reading about mine. I've learned the hard way that being honest—truly honest—is the most important thing you can be, especially when it comes to the people we admire.

The Flash isn't perfect. He's still figuring things out, just like the rest of us. But he's someone who runs into danger without hesitation to save lives, to help people—even when he has his own flaws. And that's what makes him a hero, not his super-speed or his ability to save the day.

So, if you're here to dig up dirt, you're not going to find it. What I can promise is this: I'll continue to tell the truth about The Flash and everything I learn about him. He may not be perfect, but none of us are. And maybe that's exactly why we need heroes like him in the first place.

Henry wasn't expecting what happened next. the meta-human, who decided to call herself soundwave, knocked on the door. she held up her hands revealing she was in handcuffs. "I turned myself in to the police because you actually did it."

a police officer came up from behind "Shut up you stupid meta! we can't risk locking you up in a regular prison because of what you can do to escape."

Henry winced at this but he got the police officer to let him take the girl to a soundproof cell they had designed specifically for her. Henry was sure there was bound to be some heavy bias against meta-humans, but the world will eventually have to accept some of them can be good, like the flash.
