"Oh yeah prove it. Show me your left arm." Rose said. I raised my left arm and pulled back my sleeve. On my arm in silver and gold writing it says in Italian 'I fear no demon, the demon fears me.' "Now what I want to know is how you can see The Dark Realm?" I asked.
"Well it all started when the other Beholder's Guardian found me and taught me everything he knows -which is a lot-. How I know about the Beholder lineage is because on my right arm in silver writing the same exact words as on yours." she said holding up her arm, "I had no idea why I had it there. My mom thought it was a birthmark -which I guess it is- and when I searched on google it told me what it means. Then I wanted to know more about it so I went to the library and looked it all up. Theo -the Guardian- came and was fascinated that I am a girl Guardian, -the first ever girl Guardian- so he taught me a whole lot of stuff. I know that you are stronger than mundanes and faster than a horse. That you have the power to make one more Beholders if -and only if- the world is in peril." she said, taking a drink of her water.
We talked some more then decided we should start watching again. She agreed and we didn't talk again unless we had too. That's when we ran into another demon -its a low level no name- terrorizing a human boy so I said a quick spell and the demon switched his attention to his surroundings. Rose went to help him, then she came back over to me.
"Protect the Saviors," I said over and over again. I'm saying a protection spell just for extra measures. When I got that bubbly feeling -the one I usually get when other people were staring or that the spell is complete- I suddenly stopped saying the spell. Rose said something that caused the demon to stagger. I took the sword I keep in my boots or pocket -I put a spell on it to make it smaller- I rushed at it and sliced a jagged line through its chest. He got angry and swung his arm down trying to get me but I dodged. I saw another opening and went for it. As I was fighting Rose raised her arms and shouted "Leave demon or die a painful death." but just like I thought it didn't. So we ended up joining hands and shouting "Demon leave this world go back to the Underworld!"
The demon burst into flames that grew hotter each time we got louder and louder. By the time we were done it was midnight and the demon is in ashes. Rose and I are breathing really hard. On a clock tower we here the bells chiming letting us know it's midnight. I made the sword smaller again and sheathed it into my boot.
"Ok, well I best be heading home. Maya might get worried. I will see you at school." I said. The demons don't come out after midnight because back when the first Beholder and Guardian were alive they realized that if the Dark Realm beings were to come out during the day we wouldn't be able to catch them all. And with that said I ran as fast as I could back home -funny how I can finally call this place home- "Maya, I'm home!" I yelled as soon as I came through the front door.
"I'm in the computer room. How was your watch?" Maya asked as I came into the room.
"Good, you wouldn't believe what happened." I paused, "Rose Jenson is supposed to be my Guardian." Maya knows all about the Guardians and Beholders.
"Oh well that's good, Now off to bed you have had enough excitement for the night." Maya told me. I nodded my head and headed to the kitchen instead to call Sarah.
