                        Chapter 5

        *Jace’s POV*

        I got to Kathrines’ house after I took a shower. I knocked on the door then realized there was a note attached to the door. It read:

                Dear Jace,

                Walk right on in the door is open. I had to run an errand for Maya. Wait for me inside,

                Love,

                                                ~Kathrine Anderson~

        I put the note in my pocket and entered the house. I looked around at all the pictures finally finding the living room and turning on the TV waiting for Kathrine to come back.

                *Kathrine’s POV*

        I got to Maya’s work five minutes later, “Hi is Maya in her office?” I asked her secretary.

        “Yes she is. Go on in Kathrine.” Clarinda said.

        I went into Maya’s office and found a note saying she will be right back and that her secretary doesn’t know (on a personal break) so I left the keys on the note and ran back to my house.

        *Jace’s POV*

        I heard someone enter the house, “Kathrine is that you?” I asked cautiously.

        “Yeah it’s me. Are you ready to go?” Kathrine asked.

        “Yep.” I said popping the ‘p’ and walking into the hallway where she is.

        “Well we are going to go to dinner and I’m paying, no arguing.”

                *Kathrine’s POV*

        Jace and I got to the Fireside in ten minutes, “Hello, two people?” asked the waitress. I nodded and she took us to an almost isolated booth.

        “Hi my name’s Heather and I’ll be your server tonight. What would you like to drink?” The waitress, Heather, asked us.

        “I will have a Dr. Pepper please,” I said, Jace mumbled that he’ll have the same. “So you probably didn’t like today, but if you had to pick what would you pick as your favorite part?” I asked once the waitress left.

        “Well I liked when you showed me some new stuff I didn’t even know could happen on a sword.”

        “That’s good.” I paused thinking, “Tomorrow I have nothing to do, would you like to come hang with Rose and I?” the waitress brought the drinks and took our order. I got a cheese burger and fries.

        “Sure I’ll come, it sounds like fun.” said Jace in return of my question.

        “OK then come at noon,” I said, “So you said yesterday that the Lost Souls have been teaching you. What exactly have they been teaching you?” The Lost Souls are dead Beholders, if for some reason the old Beholders and/or Guardians they uh materialize temporarily to train you so that when you come of age it isn’t so overwhelming that you end up killing yourself or get killed by them.
