The two boys drove on a pathway. They were at least 2 hours away from home but they needed fuel.

They had gotten a map of a few places around there.

Ted sat outside while Diego was inside. It was beginning to become night fall which made the two tense.

The sun was on the horizon as Diego fueled up the gas and brought extra cans.

"Let's get going." Ted said the nervousness creeping in as the sun set.

"Shit here I gotta go grab something real quick." Diego rushed into the place as fast as he could. He needed to grab wood.

Ted sat outside it was now dark. He got nervous. He heard russeling. Nothing that off an animal.

He decided to turn around.

"Don't fucking move." A voice commanded him as Ted faced the attacker.

A Hispanic man in a dark green hoodie with black facial hair stood with a gun aimed into Ted's direction.

Ted froze. He decided to listen to the man.

"I know you have fuel in there somewhere." The man commanded.

"You want the fuel?" Ted asked confused.

"Yeah, don't fuck with me." The man said a scowl plastered on his face.

Just then there was more rustleing. This time it sounded bigger the man tried to run. He knew exactly what it was but he was caught by the large creature. A nocturnal.

Ted tried to run too.

The man was pinned by the nocturnal.

It stabbed into him tearing at his flesh.

The poor man was still alive as it switched its focus to Ted.

Ted tried to run but the nocturnal was too quick. It leaped in front of him making Ted fall back.

The creature circled him.

Another one picked up the other man slamming him into a wall. Ripping off his arm in the process.

Ted hopped out of the way as the nocturnal bolted at him. Annoyed it missed.

The two nocturnals fought as they tried to steal the arm of the man.

The one bit into the other. Making it fall to the ground. Ted had no clue they would cannibalize their own species.

It began to tear at the flesh.

Ted was the only one standing. Unfortunately it was short lived.

The creature stormed at him. Pinning him to the ground as he doged the arms that tried to stab him.

He rolled over trying to move. The creature had him pinned.

He tried to run. His thoughts raced as he wondered where Diego was.

The only thing he thought of was the love of his life most likely unaware of the danger.

He cried about that thought as the nocturnal tried to stab him again.

Ted had no choice did he really?
