The gang were in a bar, Betty had texted her friends on a group chat that she had found Polly's body. Kevin thought it would be a good idea to take Betty out for a couple of drinks, to mourn and to make sure she was okay.
Betty wasn't too sure of the idea at first until Archie had persuaded her to come, so she did.
She was glad that she had her friends to lean on.
"Thanks for this guys." Betty said, her face was sore, and her eyes were red and puffy. She had been crying, mourning over Polly but she was slowly starting to adjust to life without her big sister.
"Of course, how are you holding up Bee?" Veronica asked.
Archie looked at Betty concerned.
"As good as I can be, I guess." Betty said.
"But it sucks. Painful." Betty admitted.
"I'm here for you Betty –
Veronica turned her head to look at Archie.
"We are here for you Betty." Archie said as he smiled at her.
He thought it was weird, now wasn't the time for Veronica to be jealous.
"How's your mom?" Jughead asked.
"Not good. She won't leave the house. She's listening to this Next to Normal cast album on repeat." Betty told her friends.
"What's next to normal?" Archie asked.
"It's a Broadway musical that she took Polly and I to see one year for mother's day in the city." Betty looked down. A tear forming.
"So your mom is just listening to this album?" Veronica asked.
"Over and over again. I don't know what she is thinking or feeling. I try to keep it together but I feel like I'm loosing her." Betty cried out as she wiped her tears away.
"You're not going to loose her. And you're the strongest person I know." Kevin uttered.
"Thanks Kev." Betty smiled at him.
"Polly would be proud that despite everything. You're trying to remember the happy moments rather than the dark parts." Archie hated seeing her in pain but it was all that he could, he couldn't take the pain away but the least he could do was comfort her.
"Yeah. I feel it's just darkness. My whole life has been darkness and that is what I am. I mean what did I expect my father was a serial killer, my brother is a killer. How can there be any good left despite the stereotype of the girl next door." Betty sighed, she went to a dark place in her thoughts, but Archie snapped her out of it.
"You aren't them. You are good and you are the light. You will get through this, trust me." Archie stared into her eyes, and she understood and clung onto his every word.
"Thank you." She mouthed to Archie in but a whisper.
