Jin: *gently smiling* "We trust you, Taehyung. If this is who you love, we’ll support you."

Namjoon’s expression remained thoughtful as he nodded, though his voice carried a hint of hesitation.

Namjoon: *softly* "But my son... I’ve met with him, the boy we chose for you. And I truly believe he would be perfect for you. At least, think about it. Promise me you’ll give it some thought."

Taehyung bit his lip, his mind swirling. He didn’t want to hurt his parents, but Minho was who he truly wanted to be with. Yet, seeing the sincere expression on Namjoon’s face tugged at his heart.

Tae: *sighing* "Alright, Dad. I’ll think about it..."

The moment he reached his room, he slammed the door and yelled,

Tae: "Jiminie~!"

Jimin, who was sitting on the bed, jumped at the sudden noise and flinched.

Jimin: "What, Taehyung? Stop yelling! What’s wrong?"

Taehyung stormed closer, eyes blazing with frustration.

Tae: "I hate you! You knew Appa and Dad wanted to talk to me about the engagement, and you didn’t say anything!"

Jimin sighed and rolled his eyes, trying to stay calm.

Jimin: "So they did. What’s the big deal?"

Tae: "The big deal is you knew, but you didn’t tell me! How could you let me walk into that conversation blind?"

Jimin: "I didn’t know they were so serious about it, Tae. I thought it was just talk, not an actual plan!"

Taehyung’s hands clenched into fists as he paced the room.

Tae: "Do you even know this stranger they’re trying to marry me off to?

Jimin: "I don’t!" *gives a side-eye, avoiding his gaze*

Tae: "Don’t lie to me, Jimin!"

Jimin: "I swear, I don’t know him."

Tae: *fierce look* "You know I like Minho."

Jimin: *harder expression* "Minho? He’s not right for you. You know he’s a playboy. He’ll hurt you."

Tae: *angrily* "Don’t talk to me if you’re just going to say things like that. You don’t understand."

Taehyung stormed towards the balcony.

Jimin: "Taehyung, wait!"

Taehyung stepped out onto the balcony, a novel in hand, ready to lose himself in its pages. The cool night air felt refreshing as he leaned against the railing, his eyes skimming over the familiar view of the neighbourhood.

Across the street, the Jeon house stood quiet and dark, as it had for the past year. The Jeons had moved to London and only visited Korea once a year.

But tonight, something felt different.

His eyes caught a flicker of movement inside the house.

A shadow. He blinked, telling himself it was nothing, just a trick of the light. But there it was again, something moving inside.

A shiver ran down his spine.

Tae: *yelled* "Jiminie!" *heart pounding as he turned back toward the house*

Jimin groaned from the room, annoyed.
Jimin:  "Oh my God, this boy and his drama. What is it now?"

Tae: “I saw something in the Jeon house!” Taehyung’s voice was shaky, but he tried to sound certain.

Jimin appeared at the doorway, arms crossed.

Jimin: "Detective Taehyung, stop being so dramatic."

Tae: "I’m serious! Just look over there! I swear I saw something move."
*insisted, pointing toward the darkened house*

Jimin: *squinted into the distance* "What are you saying? A ghost?"

Tae: "No! Maybe a criminal or... a mafia? It could be anything!"

Jimin" *sighed, rolling his eyes* "We should just call the cops."

Tae: "No... We should go check it out ourselves first. Maybe we’ll find a clue, and then we can call them."

Jimin stared at him, disbelief written all over his face.
Jimin: "Taehyung, you’re not a detective. Can you please stop with these wild ideas? We shouldn’t get involved in something like this."

Tae: "But Jiminie, Mrs. Jeon is a kindhearted lady. And besides, isn’t this your fiancé’s family’s house? As neighbors, and practically relatives, don’t we have a duty to make sure everything’s okay?"

Jimin hesitated, glancing back at the quiet, empty house.
Jimin: "It’s the middle of the night, We shouldn’t take that risk. Let’s check in the morning, okay? Now come on, let’s go to sleep."

Reluctantly, Taehyung tore his eyes from the Jeon house and followed Jimin back inside. But even as he lay in bed, his mind couldn’t shake the shadow that lingered in the corners of his thoughts.

Taehyung tossed and turned in bed, trying his best to fall asleep, but his mind was racing. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. Beside him, Jimin was already sound asleep, his breathing steady and peaceful.

Unable to take it any longer, Taehyung slipped quietly out of bed and made his way back to the balcony. The cool night breeze hit his face as he stepped outside, but it did little to calm his nerves. His eyes immediately locked onto the Jeon house again.

There it was, a shadow, clearer than before.

Taehyung’s heart skipped a beat.
Tae: "Oh my God, a thief... maybe," * he whispered to himself, panic setting in*

Without thinking, he rushed back to Jimin, shaking him awake.

Tae: "J... Jiminie! I saw that shadow again!"
*stammered, his voice trembling*

Jimin groaned, hissing in pain as he rubbed his eyes, clearly irritated by the disturbance.
Jimin: *mumbled* "Please, Taehyung, just go to sleep."

But Taehyung was already moving toward the door.
Tae: "I’m going, You stay here and sleep."

Jimin sat up slightly, still half-asleep.
Jimin: "Don’t do this. Dad will scold you if he finds out," *he warned, his voice thick with sleep.*

Taehyung paused for a moment, but the pull of the mysterious shadow was too strong. He glanced back at Jimin, hesitating for only a second before slipping out of the room.

Taehyung grabbed a torch and a stick, his heart pounding as he descended the stairs as quietly as he could. He reached the front door, opening it slowly to avoid making any noise. The night was eerily silent as he crossed the path toward the Jeon house.

To his surprise, the gate was already open.

His suspicions deepened.
Tae: "There must be a thief inside,"

He thought as he slipped through the gate, moving silently. Inside, the house was dimly lit, but the faint sound of footsteps echoed through the hall. Taehyung quickly turned off his torch and ducked behind a nearby sofa, peeking out cautiously.

There, in the living room, stood a man dressed all in black, speaking angrily into his phone.

Stranger: "I will kill all of them," *the stranger growled, his voice laced with rage.*

Taehyung's eyes widened in horror.
**"Haaawww..."** A gasp escaped him, but he quickly covered his mouth with his hand, terrified that the man might hear him.
