The next day dawned with a heavy atmosphere in Dwarka. The news of the priest's death spread like wildfire, sending shockwaves through the royal court. As the Pandavas along with their wife- Draupadi arrived at the palace, their presence only increased the tension. The five brothers, known for their valor and wisdom, were greeted with respect but the fear was noticeable.

Krishna welcomed them, his face betraying the anxiety that had also affected the others. Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas, immediately sensed something.

"Madhava, why has the air here filled with worry?" he asked, his tone serious.

Krishna sighed, leading them into the royal court where Asmi, Duryodhan and the rest of the royal family were gathered. The Pandavas exchanged glances as they saw Asmi's pale, anxious face and Duryodhan standing protectively beside her.

As Asmi stood at the other end of the court, her heart pounding in her chest. She had heard of Draupadi, the enigmatic wife of the Pandavas, a woman of fierce strength and unmatched beauty. But now, seeing her in person, Asmi felt a wave of emotion she hadn't anticipated. There was something about Draupadi's regal figure, her quiet dignity, that made Asmi feel suddenly small.

Another feeling gripped her heart. This was supposed to be Draupadi's moment. She was the new bride, the queen who should have been welcomed with celebration and honor. But because of everything that had happened because of the curse, the priest's death and Asmi's own mysterious past, the proper rituals and festivities had been overshadowed by the turmoil.

"There is a curse upon Asmi and Duryodhan," Krishna explained, his voice calm but grave. "A curse that, if not lifted, may lead to death and destruction."

Bhima's fists clenched at the mention of death "Who dares curse them? We will crush this darkness," he declared but Krishna raised a hand to stop him.

"It is not a curse born of men or gods. This darkness comes from the past, tied to something that has followed Asmi to this world."

Gathering her courage, Asmi stepped forward. She could feel Duryodhan's gaze following her, his protective instincts still strong but this was something she had to do herself. As she approached Draupadi, the court seemed to grow quiet, all eyes watching the two women.

"Jiji," Asmi began, her voice soft but sincere. "I must apologize. You should have been welcomed with joy and celebration, as befits a queen. But because of... because of me, things have gone awry. I am truly sorry."

Draupadi turned her gaze to Asmi, her dark eyes showed curiosity and warmth. For a brief moment, everything seemed light and she took in the young woman before her not as a rival or a cause of disruption but as someone equally caught in the mysterious web of fate.

"There is no need for apologies, priye Asmi," Draupadi said gently. Even her voice carried the strength of someone who had faced many challenges in life. "We do not always choose the circumstances we find ourselves in, but we can choose how we move forward."

Asmi lowered her head, humbled by Draupadi's grace. "Still, I feel responsible. You should have had the grand welcome, the celebrations... not all of this."

Draupadi smiled softly as she stepped closer and placed a hand on Asmi's shoulder. "Sister, we are all tied by the threads of destiny. What has happened was meant to happen and we will face it together. You are not alone in this struggle and neither am I."

Asmi's eyes welled up with unexpected tears. The warmth and kindness in Draupadi's words touched her deeply. She hadn't expected Draupadi to be so understanding, let alone so compassionate. For a woman who had suffered so much herself, Draupadi carried her pain with dignity and used it to offer strength to others. Her heart shook violently as she remember that what had occurred to this kind lady in the Mahabharata she had known back in her time.
