In the aftermath of the attack, the castle had become a sanctuary of hope and resilience. The halls echoed with whispers of gratitude for Amelia's bravery, and the bond between the royal family and the young woman who had risked everything grew stronger. As the sun rose over the Kingdom of Illea, casting golden rays through the windows, Jason found himself deep in thought, reflecting on the tumultuous events of the previous night.

Amelia was recovering, her spirit undeterred despite her injuries. Jason had spent every moment by her side, ensuring she felt loved and supported as she healed. He could not shake the overwhelming sense of gratitude he felt toward her for saving his father. As he watched her during their moments together, he realized something profound: Amelia was not just a contender in the Selection; she was the one he wanted by his side as his queen.

Sitting in his chamber, Jason picked up a quill and began to write. The words flowed from his heart, a declaration of his feelings, a promise of a future. He knew that no other woman could ever compare to Amelia's courage, kindness, and unwavering spirit. As he finished the letter, he felt a sense of clarity wash over him.

"Today, I will choose my bride," he declared to himself, determination settling within him.

After preparing himself, Jason made his way to the gardens, where the royal family had gathered to discuss the events of the past few days. He found his parents, King Reginald and Queen Isabella, deep in conversation with Amelia, who was seated on a bench, her expression a mix of relief and strength as she spoke.

As he approached, he could see how the King's eyes softened when they landed on Amelia, acknowledging the role she had played in protecting him. Jason felt pride swell in his chest, knowing Amelia had earned their admiration and respect.

"Amelia," Jason said, his voice breaking through their conversation, "may I speak with you privately?"

Amelia looked up, her eyes meeting his with a spark of curiosity. "Of course, Your Highness."

He led her a short distance away, to a quieter area of the garden where vibrant flowers bloomed in abundance. The air was fresh, and the sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

"Amelia," he began, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "What you did last night was nothing short of heroic. You saved my father's life and showed incredible bravery."

She shrugged modestly. "I just did what I thought was right, Jason. I couldn't let anything happen to him."

"I know," he replied, his heart racing. "But it's more than that. You've captured the hearts of everyone in this kingdom, and especially mine."

Amelia's eyes widened, her cheeks flushing with color. "Your Highness..."

"Please, call me Jason," he interjected, his gaze intense yet tender.

"Jason," she said softly, testing the name on her lips. "What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I've made my decision," he continued, taking a step closer. "After everything we've been through, I realize that I want you by my side—not just as a competitor in the Selection, but as my bride. Will you marry me, Amelia?"

Amelia's breath caught in her throat, shock evident on her face. "You... you want me to be your queen?"

"Yes," Jason affirmed, his voice steady. "I've seen your heart, your strength, and I know you would make an incredible queen. I want to build a future with you, one filled with compassion and unity for our kingdom."

Tears filled her eyes, and a smile broke through her disbelief. "I... I would be honored to be your queen."

Jason felt a surge of joy, knowing he had made the right choice. He reached for her hands, intertwining their fingers as if sealing their fates together. "Then let's begin the preparations for our wedding."

The news of their engagement spread like wildfire throughout the castle and the kingdom beyond. Excitement filled the air as the royal family and their closest advisors began planning a grand wedding. They envisioned a celebration that would bring the kingdom together, honoring not only the love between Jason and Amelia but also the resilience of Illea after the attack.

As the days passed, the castle buzzed with activity. The halls were adorned with flowers, banners, and shimmering lights. Royal seamstresses worked tirelessly to create the perfect gown for Amelia, a blend of elegance and grace that would embody her spirit.

Amelia found herself in a whirlwind of preparations. She was determined to make this wedding not just a royal affair but also a reflection of their love for the people of Illea. She suggested inviting families from across the kingdom to witness the union, a gesture that would symbolize hope and unity.

"Let's make this a celebration for everyone," she proposed during a meeting with the royal family. "I want the people to feel a part of this. They've supported us through so much."

King Reginald and Queen Isabella exchanged proud glances. "You have a beautiful heart, Amelia," the Queen said, smiling warmly. "Your compassion will resonate throughout the kingdom."

As the wedding day approached, anticipation filled the air. The evening before the ceremony, the castle was alive with laughter and chatter as guests began to arrive. Jason and Amelia had planned a small gathering with family and close friends, a chance to celebrate their love before the grand event.

"Can you believe we're actually doing this?" Jason asked, a playful grin on his face as he looked at Amelia across the candlelit table.

"I can't," she laughed, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "It feels like a dream."

Later that evening, as the festivities continued, Jason took Amelia outside for a moment of quiet. They walked hand in hand through the gardens, where the stars twinkled above them like diamonds scattered across the sky.

"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," he said, pausing to look deeply into her eyes.

Amelia smiled, her heart swelling with affection. "Me too. You've shown me what it means to love and be loved. I feel so lucky."

Jason brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, his touch gentle and reassuring. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, Amelia. Together, we'll create a kingdom that thrives on love and compassion."

As they stood there, under the vast expanse of the night sky, Jason realized that this was only the beginning of their journey together. With Amelia by his side, he felt ready to face any challenge that lay ahead, united in purpose and love.

As the dawn of their wedding day broke, the kingdom of Illea awakened to a new chapter in its history—a chapter filled with hope, courage, and the promise of a brighter future, embodied in the love of Prince Jason and Princess Amelia
