I'm catching my breath as I look at the score board. They're ahead ng 1 point. Damn. Kailangan naming humabol since ito yung kailangan namin para pasok kami sa finals.
"Santos, kailangan mo makapuntos. kahit isang tira lang at makakalamang tayo. Kailangan natin makatira. Bantayan niyo din ang oras. ilang segundo nalang natitira before matapos yung game! We deserve to be in the finals."--coach
nagring na ang buzzer. I'm starting to feel the tiredness from the game. This game is one of the most intense that we played and desidido kami na manalo.
Pumwesto na ako and I can hear all the screams from the audience that added fuel to my adrenaline and energy. Andaming nanonood.
We need to win this.
Pinasa sakin ang bola then dinerederetso ko ito sa ring
"Santos again for 2! 15 seconds remaining before the game ends!"--nag defense kami agad
Naagaw ni Hael ang bola sa kalaban that made the people's cheer louder.
"Cloud!" I heard her scream as she passed me the ball.
"5 Seconds!"
Pumwesto ako sa 3pt line then takes a deep breath at tinira ang bola papunta sa ring.
"For 3 points-------Its in! And its a win for SJU! Congratulations for qualifying for the finals!"--announcer
Napaupo ako sa sahig and my sweat doesn't seem to stop dropping.
We won. I can hear everyone's cheer. I think most of SJU's athlete's are here since kami lang ata ang may game ngayon.
"Gagi Cloud! AHAHAHA. That was amazing!"--my teammates comment, I just smiled at them, tumayo na ako then nakipag shake hands kami sa kalaban.
"Grace! You were amazing!"--napatingin ako kay Sam then she hugged me.
"Sam, pawis ako."--me while laughing.
"Ang galing mo!"--Sam then bumitaw na siya sa yakap.
Napatahimik ang mga tao sa paligid namin then napatingin ako kung saan sila nakatingin.
"You did great."--inabot ni Gab yung paperbag ng McDo sakin then natulala ako sakanya. my hearts starts to beat fast. Nung ginulo niya buhok ko saka ko lang narealize na natulala pala ako kaya hinampas ko kamay niya.
"Thanks."--Me
"You're welcome. See you around."--Gab then she turned to leave
"Omg. Ano yon?"--then all of them started to drop questions at me.
But my attention went to Sam, she looks so dumbfounded. I started to overthink but I went to her.
"You ok?"--I asked
She nodded. I started to fix my thing and pinalitan ko na din suot ko. Nagshirt nalang ako then nagstart na kami maglakad palabas ng gymnasium.
"Santos! Ang galing mo!"---other people
May mga nakipicture sakin and some people asked for my IG.
"Andami mo ng admirers ah."--Sam smiled at me. I just nodded then pumunta kami sa pwesto ng motor ko.
"Ihahatid na kita."--I told her, she just nodded.
All throughout the drive, antahimik ni Sam. Nakakapanibago since she's the one who always talk saaming dalawa. Then nakarating na kami sa cabin nila.
Bumaba siya then bumaba din ako.
"Is sommething bothering you?"--I asked. She just looked at me.
"Uhmm. May something ba sa inyo?"--Sam asked
"Wala naman."--I answered
"Do you like her?"--napatahimik ako sa tanong niya. I started to think about what I was feeling lately, the blush, the butterflies, the joy when I'm out with her.
"You like her."--Sabi niya. I just stayed quiet while thinking.
"Its ok man Amy. We're just talking naman and I get it why you can't answer me."--I just stared at her
"The times that you weren't around sa cafeteria, you were with her. Tama ba?"--she asked too
I just nodded at her
"I saw you two."--kinabahan ako sa sinabi niya then I suddenly felt sorry as I start to realize things.
"When did you meet?"--she asked
"Last semester."--I asnwered
"Oh. Mas nauna mo siyang nakilala."--Her.
"Anyway, thank you."--She told me then she started to walk towards the entrance of the cabin.
I walked towards her
"I think we should stop."--I told her, tumingin siya sakin then she started to get teary eyed
"Amy, antagal nating magkausap. Are you really choosing her over me?"--her
I feel guilty but hindi naman pwedeng ipush namin ito since it also doesn't feel right.
"I'm sorry but I can't stay like this. With you."--I told her then tumalikod na ako.
I heard her walk away too.
Parang gumaan ang loob ko since I'm starting to understand more kung ano talaga nararamdaman ko.
Sumakay ako sa motor then started the engine.
Dumeretso na ako palabas ng campsite then naghanap na ako ng pagpapahanginan. I ended up sa isang park at the top of a hill.
well, I'm glad Gab handed me these. Ngayon lang ako nakaramdam ng gutom since wala akong gana kanina after ng game.
I started eating then tumunog phone ko.
elle---- 'Hey, where are you?'
Napatitig lang ako sa notification sa lockscreen ko and nagdadalawang isip ako kung rereplyan ko ba o hindi but my phone started to ring kaya nagulat ako.
I let it ring hanggang sa mag-end, nung rereplayan ko na sana chat niya my phone started to ring again.
"Hey."--I answered
"Where are you? I'm waiting for you at the lobby."--Gab
"I'm at a park. Why are you even waiting for me?"--I asked
"I actually don't know. I just felt like waiting for you."--Gab
"I'm fine."--me
"Can I come wherever you are?"--Gab
"Uhmm. Sure--?"---Me
"So where are you?"----I told her the details then she dropped the call.
Tinigil ko muna kumain then waited for her. This park is not that far from the campsite so I think hindi naman siya mawawala
A few minutes passed, then dumating din siya.
"Where's your bike?"--It seems like hindi siya nagdrive and based sa itsura niya pawis niya at hinihingal, and she has a backpack.
She dropped her bag beside me then umupo na din siya, I was watching her catch her breath.
"You jogged?"--I asked, she nodded. Damn.
Nung nakapaghinga na siya, may nilabas siyang laptop and a bag of McDo takeouts. At nung naamoy ko yung food, mas lalo akong nagutom.
"Let's watch."--She opened the laptop then opened Netflix at nagplay ng movie and nilabas din niya laman ng paperbag na dala niya and I can't stop feeling hungry just by looking at the food she bought. I started eating as we watch.
It was a gentle and quiet night and it actually felt good. We ended up watching 2 movies ng hindi pinapansin yung oras.
"Should we head back?"--Gab, I just nodded at her. Niligpit niya mga pinagkainan namin at tinapon na mga ito.
Inabot niya kamay niya sakin to help me stand up after maglinis, I accepted it then tumayo.
"I'll drive."--i looked at her bago ko binigay yung susi ng motor.
Pumwesto na siya sa motor kaya umangkas na ako then she started to drive pabalik sa campsite.
She parked the bike then bumaba na ako, she handed my the key at kinuha mga bag na hawak ko.
"That's my bag."--I said
"Hatid kita sa room mo."--then nauna na siya maglakad papunta sa cabin, then she stopped nung asa tapat na ako ng room ko kaya binuksan ko na ito. She went in then nilapag bag ko sa upuan.
"Thank you."--I muttered then napatingin siya sakin.
"Thank you for tonight."--I said, she smiled
"You're always welcome."--palabas na siya then tumingin ulit sakin
"I forgot my phone."--napatingin ako sa mini table sa kwarto and it was there kaya kinuha ko then inabot ko sakanya, she was about to get it but she pulled me instead then embraced me.
"You know, it was kinda hard to watch you hug someone else. I don't know why."--She muttered then naramdaman ko na unting-unti namumula pisngi ko. I was not moving the whole time she was hugging me then she let go and ambilis niya umalis.
and I was still there by the door na natulala.
"What was that?"--napalingon ako sa nagsalita and I realized na Hael was watching us form the other side of the hallway with some of our teammates. Damn
"Santos, ano yon?"--pang aasar nila sakin then the hallway started to get noisier with them teasing me.
Inakbayan ako ni Andrea (one of our teammates)
"Volleyball player, tapos ngayon e-sports naman ha."--Her
Then I felt someone na inakbayan pa ako on my other shoulder
"Anong meron sa inyo nung taga IA? Huli ka na. AHAHHAHA."---Jireh (another teammate)
I was blushing so hard and I can literally feel my face heat up.
"Narinig mo ba yung sabi niya kanina? Ano ulit yun?"---Anna asked looking at Hael, then Hael started acting
"It was kinda hard to watch you hug someone else. Mwaaa."---Hael then everyone started to tease me more.
"Stop it."--I started to laugh with them.
I guess this night isn't so bad at all.
