My Partner's a Monster

Chapter 4

Joseph and Angelica went on their date while Megan spied on them that night. Megan followed Joseph and Angelica to the park, where they saw a bunch of dogs. Joseph held Angelica's hands and said, "Here's what I need to tell you. I'm a werewolf, look." Joseph got down on all fours and ran to play with the other dogs. Angelica was happy that Joseph was honest with her, but she was unsure of him being a werewolf because of her secret. Megan saw Joseph playing with the other dogs and tried to figure out why he would be doing so. Then Angelica whistled for him, and he came. Angelica said, "Two legs, please." Joseph got up, and his crystal glowed pink, making his tail wag because he thought Angelica liked him. Megan thought there was something suspicious about both. Megan followed them into the alley and saw Angelica bringing Joseph into a vampire-themed restaurant called The Blood Bank. Megan peered into the window and noticed them sitting at their table and Joseph sniffing around like a bloodhound. Joseph said, "I'll have a hamburger, and my drink will be root beer." Angelica said, "And I'll have the fish, and my drink will be...." Angelica winked at the waiter and stated, "Punch."

Once their waiter brought them their food, Joseph drooled over his, ate his burger without his hands, and drank his root beer with his tongue. Joseph looked at Angelica and saw she was a mess. Then Joseph put a napkin in his teeth and handed it to Angelica. Joseph said, "Napkin?" Angelica said, "Thanks." Angelica cleaned herself with the napkin Joseph gave her. Angelica said, "Joseph, I have something to tell you." Joseph stated, "What?" Angelica drank her punch, and when she did, her skin became wrinkle-free, and her hair became longer. Angelica said, "I'm a vampire." Megan saw what had happened, heard what Angelica had said, gasped loudly, and hid below the window. Angelica then looked out the window but didn't see anyone there.

Angelica didn't think anyone was watching, so she held Joseph's hand and continued their date. Joseph didn't care that Angelica was a vampire, nor did Angelica care that Joseph was a werewolf. Megan whispered, "They're both monsters. What am I going to do? I can't tell the cops. They'll destroy them. And I can't tell them I know; they might kill me." A vampire said, "Oh, you won't have to worry." Megan turned around and saw five vampires looking at her. Megan then screamed, and Joseph heard her. Joseph then glanced out the window and saw Megan screaming at people looking at her. Megan then ran for her life, and the vampires turned into bats and chased after her. Megan then got an idea and ran right by the police station. When Chief Meena and her crew saw vampire bats chasing Megan, they figured the vampires were chasing her. Chief Meena and her team got in their cars and pursued after them. Megan then ran into a garlic store, and when the vampires saw the garlic in the window, they panicked and flew away.

After she lost the vampires, Megan came out of the garlic store, and Angelica and Joseph found her. Angelica then spotted Joseph's ears pointing, so she put his hood up so his sister wouldn't see him change. Angelica whispered, "Joseph, your ears." Angelica looked at him and said, "Now your eyes are getting blue, and you're getting fangs." Joseph stated, "No, not now. Please, not now." When the clock on the clocktower struck midnight and rang, Joseph got down on all fours, tore through his clothes, and howled when he became a full werewolf. When the vampires heard Joseph howl, they flew back to find him. Angelica said, "Leash him. We got to get out of here." Megan stated, "I got a better idea."

Megan picked up a piece of wood and said, "Hey, Joseph." Megan threw the stick to their house and stated, "Fetch." Joseph ran after it, and when the Police showed up, Megan and Angelica acted normal, like they weren't hiding anything. Chief Meena said, "OK, we saw you running from vampires. Where are they?" Megan stated, "I scared them away with the garlic store behind us." Angelica then got on her knees because she couldn't stand the smell of the garlic. Alexis pointed at Angelica and said, "What's wrong with her?" Angelica said, "Oh. With you here, I can't leave. But I'm allergic to garlic." Megan whispered, "I know what you are." Karly said, "OK, you can go." Shontae pointed at Megan and stated, "But she has to stay." Angelica then left to get away from the garlic and ran after Joseph.

Once she got far enough away, she turned herself into a bat and flew around town looking for Joseph. Once she found him, she saw Joseph breaking into his house through his window. Angelica tried flying in, but she couldn't get into the house. Even as a bat or any animal she changes into, Angelica could talk, but as a werewolf, Joseph couldn't. Angelica said, "I forgot that vampires couldn't enter people's homes without being invited. And since he's a werewolf, Joseph can't invite me in." Angelica then knocked on the window and got Joseph's attention. When Joseph looked at the window, he saw Angelica flying at it. Angelica said, "Joseph, get out here." Joseph broke down the glass door and met up with Angelica outside. Angelica then changed back to human form and tried calming Joseph down. Angelica saw her vampire friends coming in bat form, so she hid Joseph back in his house and used her powers to fix the door that Joseph broke down and close the curtains. Angelica said, "Sorry, talk to you later."

Once Angelica's vampire friends arrived at her location, they changed back into humans and asked Angelica a few questions. Matthew said, "OK, where is he?" Angelica said, "Where's who? We're all present." Megan eavesdropped on their conversation when she got home. Carolyn stated, "You know, the werewolf. We're itching to kill him." Megan couldn't believe what she heard and saw the sun rising, so she expected the vampires to leave and Joseph to change back. Maddy said, "There's the sun. Let's get out of here. We'll discuss the werewolf later." While Angelica hid in the shade, Matthew changed into a wolf and ran off, Carolyn changed into an owl and flew away, Maddy changed into a bat and took off, Raven changed into a moth and soared away, and Chris changed into a fox and ran off. Once her friends left, Angelica put on her sunblock so the sun wouldn't destroy her. Angelica then walked into the sun, and Megan got confused. Megan then wandered over to Angelica and said, "Wait a minute. I thought vampires weren't allowed in the sun." Angelica said, "True, but now I wear sunblock." Angelica showed Megan her sunblock and stated, "This SPF 50,000 makes me glitter in the sun." Angelica then sparkled, and Megan saw she was all glittery. Angelica said, "Now that we're clear on vampires. Let's go check on our werewolf."
