Chapter 3

Disaster

                 Carl and I were only hanging out for what seemed like an hour when we heard screams. These were screams coming from what seemed like a young woman who was terrified. Carl looks at me with confusion and horror in his eyes, then grabs my arm and tugs me out of the house. We make our way to where the screams are coming from, trying to get there before everyone else makes it there. 

                 We make to the gate thankfully before everyone else. Rick and some of his group were there, then Deanna arrives. A young women, like I thought, was holding her bloody neck, crying. She wasnt bit, though. I can barely hear anything, but I manage to make out that the woman was cut with a knife. I  assume she got into a fight with someone. 

                 It has been a good 5 minutes, and it has finally calmed down a little bit. Deanna tells us all to go back to our houses. Carl insists that I come back to his place, and Im kinda glad I did. Rick walked in the door a few moments after Carl and I. 

"So theres probably a group of people after Alexandria. That woman was our warning." 

                 They all were talking about what was gonna have to happen. I was just sitting there because Ive never had to do any of the things that they were suggesting, and I had no suggestions. Then Rick asks, "Ana, would your brother be able to help us? He seems to know his way around a gun." 

"Most likey. Would y'all like if I went and got him?" 

"Sure." 

                   And off I went. I ran across the street and into my new house. 

"Daniel!" I shouted. 

"Ana? Im up here!" 

                    I quickly ran up the stairs and into Daniels bedroom. "So  the woman earlier..." I briefly paused. "She was cut because another group is after us." Daniel just looked at me as though he was listening intently. "Rick and his group wants to know if you could help end this fight..." I fade out. 

"Come with me to their house." He says, with his voice low. 

                   We walk over to Ricks house. I knock on the door and open it as I call Rick. "Ah, y'all are here. So Daniel, did Ana inform you of the situation?" 

"Yes, she did an overall explanation of it. So whats the plan?" 

"We have to figure out who we are up against." says a girl I believe is Maggie. 

"And where they are living, Im guessing" I say. 

"Yes. And after we get them details we will talk to them, make an agreement."

"How do we find this information?" I ask. 

" We have to wait till they come again." says Rick. "Its late, how about everyone go home and get some sleep, we will talk more tomorrow morning." 

                     Daniel and I walk back to our home, as well as everyone else. "I want you to do this with me." Daniel says, breaking the silence. 

"Good. Because I am."  I say, in a braging tone.
