"I can't believe what I'm about to write. My ma' and pa' went in their car to rush to the airport. They were hit by a train. My parents are dead. I'm sorry I haven't written in a little while, but I've been trying to do better in school for Darry's sake. Darry came home with the terrible news, his eyes were redder than cherries that were ripe for too long. Darry only wanted to tell Soda, so that my nightmares wouldn't be worse. I'm a 13 year old greaser without parents. I've been 13 for a month now, and I hate it."
I bit my lip, trying to make it bleed. I didn't wanna cry. I don't look tuff when I cry. A week until Soda's birthday, and ma' and pa' are dead. I know Darry probably feels loster than me and Soda. I know Darry's gonna go crazy over it. I don't really know how to feel about it, and Darry calls me heartless sometimes because I don't show much to him. They were my ma' and pa' too, y'know. Darry comes into my room "Pony, get your ass ready for school" his voice was quiet and mean, kinda like Dally's when he was hittin' on some girls. I quickly get ready for school.
I sat in class as normal, I'm guessin' the class knew what happened already because some soc kid called me "The orphan greaser" which isn't even true. I have Darry and Soda to take care of me. And I have my friends, like Johnny and Two-bit. I plan on visiting Johnny after school.
