as they still kept on walking on the dark, bloody path, xie lian naturally couldn't help but wonder who these two are. he was still gripping the man's arm as they avoided the puddles of blood on the ground.
it was very silent. eerily silent. the crown prince narrowed his eyes as he observed the two unknown figures. he looked downwards to their shoes, both had black boots but the tallest one had gold patterns on his.
'their footsteps sounds so light. these guys might be young.' xie lian thought. 'yet their paces are steady, as if they have seen it all.' he then looks at the arm he's grabbing on, the umbrella, and the other two hands holding each others.
'could they.. be the ghost grooms? is the reason why a lot of brides have been abducted because there were two ghost grooms all along?'
once the reached the end of the dark path of the forest, the man in the middle closed his black umbrella and slowly took a step forward before turning to face them. allowing xie lian to see the details and patterns of his outfit.
he had a black hanfu that was adorned with gold and red linings. on his shoulders, there was a neatly sat white feathered shoulder faux. looking downwards, xie lian saw his black gloves that showed his slender fingers. and of course, the black boots also with gold linings that he noticed earlier.
the other figure beside xie lian also shifted a bit to also look at his direction. the two looked like his predators, but he hasn't felt any bad intentions yet. his honey colored eyes narrowed in caution as the man towering over the both of them reached out his hand, trying to unveil the face of the crown prince.
but before the man could even reach his red veil, he jumped a few steps backwards and sent out ruoye as an attempt to capture the both of them. the man who had his arm left hanging in the air only smirked at xie lian's attempt.
he gently grabbed the figure in red closer to him and when ruoye was only a few inches away from their bodies, they disappeared, their bodies turning into a thousands of translucent butterflies that lit up the brown haired male's surroundings before flying high up in the sky.
he silently gasped, 'they managed to get away..!' he stood there all alone as he watched the butterflies disappearing from his sight. 'are they.. the ghost grooms or not?' he asks himself as he removes the veil on his head.
'in the first place, if the guy in red was the ghost groom, the wolves should work for him. but then, why were they terrified upon seeing him?' xie lian's brows furrowed while quietly analyzing the current situation. 'secondly, the magical formation should be set up by the ghost groom, yet the man in black just stamped it out.'
