Chapter 5

It's been a month since Laurent left me at the hotel, the time where she witnessed me kissing another man, Yedam. Yes, she did left me there, yet she still managed to send some of her men to bring me home. After that, I haven't heard from her. She's not home since then, kahit anino niya ay wala.

I am quite satisfied with the outcome. At least hindi ko na nakikita ang pagmumukha niya sa bahay and wala nang nakikialam sa ginagawa ko sa buhay.

Pumasok na ako ng kotse and maneuvered it to a cafe. Quinn and I have something to talk about regarding my take over in my parent's business.

Pagpasok ko palang ay natanaw ko na si Quinn. I quietly sat down in front of her. Nang magtama ang mga mata namin, she put down the paper she was reading then proceeds to speak.

"According to what your father said, the properties that you were supposed to inherit is on hold."

Naudlot ang paginom ko ng kape dahil sa sinabi nito. "What did you say? If this is a prank, cut it out."

"As much as I want to say it's a prank, it is true, Xandra." Patuloy niya.

"Why didn't he inform me this personally?!" Galit kong singhal.

"As if you're returning his calls." Masungit na balik niya sa akin dahilan para samaan ko siya ng tingin.

"What! Are you on my side ba talaga?" Irita kong salita and pointed my fork on her.

She casually let out a chuckle. "I'm just saying."

Buong akala ko good news ang sasabihin niya sa akin, but it turns out ma stress lang pala ako.

"Did my dad at least say the reason why he put it on hold?" My brows met due the stress I'm feeling.

"Um, he mentioned that as soon as you get along with your wife—" I abruptly cut her off.

"Then consider it terminated. I'd rather work my ass off than be with that witch." I grab my bag from the chair beside me and stands up, "I'm leaving."

"Hey—"

I didn't wait for her response. Umalis na ako sa lugar na 'yon at naiimbyerna lang ako. What I did is rude considering it's not her fault, but I am pissed.

I still have a lot of savings on my bank, I can use it for the mean time while I look for a decent job, it's not that bad, right?

Pumunta ako sa J.Co, on my way to Liam's office. I need a job, that's why I am going to ask for his help.

I was escorted to his office, wala akong appointment but good thing that he still acknowledged my presence. He really is my bestfriend.

I thanked his assistant before entering Liam's office. I bit my inner cheek upon seeing him piled up with paper works, yet here I am, going to bother him with my problems.

"Hey." I greeted him and kissed his cheek. Umupo ako sa harap niya.

"Hey gorgeous." Nakangiti siya sa akin ng nakakaloko kaya umangat ang kilay ko. Bakit ganiyan siya makatingin?

"Where's Laurent?" Sumulyap pa ito sa pinto.

Agad na umasim ang mukha ko. "Aba malay ko? Why are you asking me?"

"Ha? Hindi kayo magkasama?" Tila nagugulahan na ani niya.

"May nakikita ka bang kasama ko? And bakit kami magsasama? Walang magsasama! At bakit mo siya hinahanap? Close ba kayo?" Iritadong bigkas ko at inis na inayos ang buhok ko.
