Tanvi's POV
Did I hear that right? This idiot called our products low quality? How dare he? And who even is he?
“Have you even tried our products before calling them poor quality?” I snapped, placing one hand on my hip and raising the other, questioning him.
“I don’t even need to try them. I can tell just by looking at them,” he said in a stern voice.
“First of all, tell me, who are you even? Do you have some kind of scanner in your eyes that you can say with so much confidence that these are poor quality products?” I replied, my anger boiling inside.
“Tanvi, he's Kabir Khurana,” Harman spoke up. Kabir? Okay, I've heard about him from my brother, and everything I heard... is true. He really is such a jerk.
“And Kabir, what are you saying? You can’t just bash someone’s products without even trying them,” Harman scolded him, but all he did was roll his eyes.
“Harman, I’ve seen a lot of people using these products, and based on their reviews, I’m just stating the facts,” he replied with that same serious face.
“Looks like you trust people’s words too much. Well, then you must come to the award party the day after tomorrow,” I said, smirking.
“Let’s see who’s got the best-reviewed products,” I said with the fakest smile I could muster.
“I don’t like attending such meaningless parties,” he scoffed.
“Oh, Kabir, your excuses are good but they won’t work on me. After all, even you know who’s going to win, right?” I shrugged.
“After all, Khurana Enterprises has always been left behind by Malhotra Enterprises, isn’t that right?” I said, trying to push his buttons.
But then, Harman had to jump in. “Tanvi, seriously, Kabir doesn’t like attending parties or events—”
“I’ll be there, Tanvi ji. Let’s see who leaves whom behind,” Kabir said with a pleasant but teasing smile.
I raised my eyebrows. He agreed that quickly? Didn’t expect that. Whatever, I don’t even care about these jerks.

Author’s POV
Tara and Naina were sitting in Tara’s hospital cabin. Naina had her head on the table, doodling something with her fingers.
Tara, meanwhile, was busy checking some reports. “Hmm, so you’re 2 weeks pregnant, and you had a one-night stand... with someone you don’t even know—"
A gunshot startled them both. “What the—” Tara exclaimed, standing up from her chair, followed quickly by Naina.
“What was that—”
“A gunshot,” Tara replied, quickly springing into action.
She grabbed Naina’s arm. “Let’s get out of here. It’s not safe.”
“But where are we going to go?” Naina asked as they ran for their lives.
“Somewhere safe,” Tara said as they rushed out of the cabin. In the chaos, the pregnancy report slipped from her hand, but it went unnoticed, sliding under a stool.
“Tara, that report—”
“We’ll get it later, just run!” Tara ordered, picking up the pace.
---
“Sir, there’s been a terrorist attack at the hospital, and we can’t find madam. No idea where she is,” the guard I sent to protect Tara was telling me.
