A small piece of hope

Sakura's Pov (point of view)~

As I was changing into my battle attire, I couldn't get my mind off of that night with Sasuke. I never would've known that he was that kind of person. He seemed too caught up into revenge that being with a girl let alone have sex with her would've never crossed my mind. It seemed almost..... weird for me to even think about it. But since it was me that he had done 'it' with, I don't mind at all over his sudden change.

"There. This seems about right," I said to myself, as I adjusted the pouch on my waist.

Under the traditional Akatsuki cloak, I wore a black fishnet shirt with skin clad black short shorts and my usual boots. My pink hair was, as always, tied up into a high ponytail out of the way. I smiled to myself in the mirror, and took my katana from the bed and slid it into its sheath on my back. After I knew that I had everything I thought I would need for the mission, I left my room and to the entrance of the hideout.

There stood Suigetsu doing his usual thing, drinking out of his water bottle, and beside him was the ever so calm (at times) Jugo petting a bird with the tip of his finger. And finally my eyes turned to the one guy that could make my stomach do tremendous flips. Sasuke. He stood on the other side of Suigetsu against a tree with his eyes closed. I blushed when he opened them and looked at me as I walked over to them.

"Hey princess. You finally ready?" Suigetsu said with a small toothy smirk.

I rolled my eyes, took his bottle, and drunk a huge gulp out of it, and then handed it back to him with a small smile.

"Thanks. I needed that."

He chuckled and clicked the bottle to his waist and glanced over at the silent raven against the tree.

"We're ready Sasuke."

Said person stood from his calmed position against the tree, and felt a light raindrop fall against his pale skin. He looked up at the now darkening sky, and mentally sighed. He put on his hood, and caught my eye.

"Let's go," He muttered.

*Konoha - Hokage Tower -*

~knock knock~

"Come in..." A voice said from inside the room.

Naruto reluctantly walked into the Hokage room with a sad look on his face. No hope no longer sparked his eyes. He knew there wasn't the slightest of chances that his pink haired girlfriend had been found, but he had to try once more. He had to hear those words again just make sure what happened a while ago wasn't just a dream.

Tsunade sat down the empty bottle of sake, and looked into his dull sea blue eyes and sighed.

"Naruto, I think you already know- "

He stopped her, "I know granny Tsunade. I just want to hear you say it again. Just to be sure that all of this isn't a dream."

She took another swig of the new open bottle of sake, and sat it down.

"Well, Sakura has yet to be- "

Suddenly a puff of smoke clouded the two's vision and behind the smoke was an ANBU member. He was crouched down with his head down as well.

"Lady Hokage, there has been intel on Haruno Sakura's current location. Do you want us to pursue any further?" The root member said then asked.

Tsunade seen a sudden bolt of hope flash past through Naruto's eyes.

"She's alive?!" He asked the root member.

The ANBU member didn't say a word knowing that it wasn't in his place to answer without permission.

"You may answer," Tsunade said.

The member looked at Naruto slightly.

"We found a small piece of evidence on a branch nearby on the outskirts of Amegakure. We have stopped our search just after we found that piece of evidence to come and receive our next order of actions. Lady Hokage. What is your decision?" He asked.

Tsunade contemplated on her next move, then she looked at Naruto who was anxious to hear her answer. She sighed. She had to do it. The only way that getting Sakura back could be made certain was to send the right people for the job.

"Naruto, you and a couple more of other people are going to set out to investigate that area and see what else you can find. If you happen to come across Sakura, and she's accompanied by someone, which I'm sure she is, do not infiltrate. All we need to do at the moment is make sure that she is safe and not hurt. It is quite likely. And ANBU, please inform your root members that they have done a job well done. But also tell Yugao to head out with the team to lead them to the spot where she had found the evidence. We have to be cautious but quick about this. There will be no screw ups. Dismissed!"
