-Zayne's POV-

Life never goes how I want it to.

I paced back and forth my room, before angrily slamming the now open window shut. All the turtles jumped, slowly stepping back.

"Dude, chillax. You have four awesome turtles here to protect you!-" Mikey had started, before being cut off by a frustrated groan from me.

"I don't need anyone taking care of me! I'm capable of surviving by myself, and no damn cheese grater is getting in my way!" I shouted furiously. "Either you actually explain everything to me, or I'm giving you all concussions!"

"Okay then. We'll tell you everything." Leo sighed. "Shredder is our father's half brother, and he's currently seeking revenge on us. He has found out something valuable about you, and now he wants to use you as bait to lure us out."

"Or experiment. We never know what that psycho's up to." Raph joked sarcastically, earning an elbow to the chest by Leo.

"Anyways, you need to come with us. We're not letting you die on our watch."

Why does he care? And now I'm getting a weird fuzzy feeling. Great.

I stare into Leo's sapphire eyes, the color dazing me before I scoff, crossing my arms. "Like you can protect me. You're just a turtle with some pretend katanas." I let out a snarky chuckle, seeing the smaller blue-masked turtle scowl at me, before sighing.

"Just come with us, Zayne. Your life is in danger."

Donnie spoke up, looking at some doohickey. "And now the Kraang's here. Shredder and the Kraang must be working together." And with that sentence, Leo suddenly grabs my wrist, and I don't complain, being caught off guard.

If those freaks are after me, I have to bring a weapon.

I grab my bat and my bag, before looking at them with a glare. "Are we going or what? Where are we even going?"

-----

The motherfucking sewers again. This stench is horrible. How do they survive this hellhole?

"We'll need to make a plan to infiltrate a Kraang base and get some information on why they want Zayne." Donnie spoke, tapping a pencil against his lab table, which was scattered with multiple things, none of which were left untouched by Mikey as he spun around on a swivel chair.

"Okay, thanks Don." Leo looked at me. "Does your family have ties to Shredder or the Kraang?"

I shrug. "Not that I know of. We did have some pretty nasty business with a TCRI building since my parents broke some valuable stuff a while ago." I cross my arms again, looking around.

"TCRI? That's usually filled to the brim with Kraang." Leo mentioned.

I tap my foot impatiently, leaning back against the lab table. I suddenly heard a female call from their 'living room.'

"Guys? I brought some pizza!"

Donnie instantly perked up at the sound of the first voice, sighing like a lovesick puppy. "April!~" I cringed, before recognizing the name.

"April!?" I shouted, accidentally syncing with Mikey as he jumped up, running out to April. I followed suit, hoping it's not the ginger.

And.. it's the same damn ginger.

"Zayne? I didn't know you knew the turtles too!" April spoke, setting the pizza boxes down, the boxes quickly disappearing. "What are you doing here?"

"Some 'Shredder' guy wants to kidnap me for some reason." I mutter harshly, earning a shocked look from April.

"And a day before your birthday? Things must be rough for you." She mentions. Mikey turns to me, beaming with happiness.

"Happy early birthday dude!" He exclaims, running and hugging me, to which I growl.

"Shut up about my birthday!" I scream. "God damn you're insufferable! Let's just get back to discussing whatever we were talking about earlier."

-----

As we resumed talking about Shredder's possible plans with me, now with the addition of April, I had only one question on my mind that I never dared to ask myself before.

Why me? I didn't ask for this.

(And I have internet issues, so these chapters will be slower than they already are.)
