I understand that some of you are disappointed with my choices regarding the couples in the story, and I really appreciate all the feedback. However, I want to clarify that these relationships will not be rushed or forced. I'm intentionally building up the dynamics between Ada and Aiden, as well as Ares and Lizzie. It's important to me that the progression feels natural, with tension, flings, and growth along the way.I put a lot of thought into it trust me. Ask Valencia in the comments HAHA. I really tried and thought of Ada and Aiden but it wouldn't make sense. The trauma for Ada is something you guys aren't processing. Aiden's brother raped her, she has to sleep with Aiden every night looking into her rapist's brother and his own eyes. UNDERSTAND THAT my loves!
I know some of you were rooting for different pairings, like Ada and Ryke, but to me, that didn't feel like the right direction. As much as I love the idea of Ada and Aiden, and how haunting their relationship could be given Ada's past, their connection isn't something that would make sense within the framework of this story. Ada's journey is complicated, and while Ares seems like the natural choice for her, even their path will face obstacles and challenges. I'm planning for them to have a fallout, and Ada will develop feelings for others along the way.
I actually would write a spinoff of Ada and Aiden, but for the book, it's best for her soulmate to be Ares.
I write with darker, more complex themes, and while I understand that some might have expected a different direction like Ada and Aden, I hope you can trust the build-up I'm working towards. There will be no easy answers for these characters. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you'll continue to follow their stories as they unfold.
Please don't be disappointed. Xoxo.
