When Siobhan and Roger started seeing each other a year ago, it was exciting. Roger was quite handsome and charming, despite their age difference. He was also a very giving lover, which Siobhan had to admit she couldn't say about many men she's dated.

At first it was the hookups, then it was the fancy dinners. At some point she had to admit, she could get used to living like this. It seemed so perfect.

Not long after the news of their relationship surfaced, the location tracking started, then the texts, then the phone calls. She hadn't seen anyone except Roger and his business associates for months.

It had only hit her when she was on the phone at the nursery, arguing with Roger on the phone the very first time she saw Vivian walk into the room. A beautiful woman stood there in front of her. There was no judgment, more concern– she's seen Mia give her the same look before. She hated that look. Which, of course, resulted in Siobhan snapping at her.

She almost wished Janice would steal him away. She had an inkling the younger woman was going to. Siobhan was smart enough to put two and two together that Janice was running out of funds from her previous marriage and already had a report with Roger.

But Siobhan had done her job too well when snaring that man in her trap. Roger was infatuated, no, obsessed with her. She truly loved Roger. The whispers said, 'gold digger' and 'tramp' but she let them say what they wanted to.

It was only once Mia came out with the truth about how he split up his children for his own sake that she began to question. 'Is he that awful?' Siobhan started to worry, putting the pieces together.

'People see him as a bad person, and associate me with the same for loving him?' Well, Siobhan was never a good person, but she wouldn't consider herself conniving enough to do something like that.

Roger's grip from then on only tightened. Mia was the only person she could call a 'friend' and there was no seeing her anymore after the stunt she pulled exposing him.

She was fortunate if she got to see the redhead at the nursery, and even more fortunate that Mia was visiting more often when Charlotte captured her attention. Mia tried to get information from Siobhan, checking in to make sure she was safe, but the blonde knew what would happen if she told the whole truth. Mia would expose Roger's skeletons, and Siobhan would get the repercussions. She always did when he was angry.

She felt stuck. She didn't have enough of her own money to stick it out on her own. Sure, she had Mia, who would put her up for a while, but exposing Roger would also put an end to the younger woman's funds since she wouldn't have anything to hold over his head. How long would the two of them survive on such little income? No, Siobhan wouldn't ask that of her.

It's not like he asked her to marry him anyway.

"We're going to get married at the ball." He threw her his credit card. "Pick out whatever ring you'd like." He said. They'd discussed marriage before, but it was a few more years down the line. She couldn't imagine the outcome if she said no.

Not only had he caught wind of the takeover, but he also started to feel more insecure the more time Siobhan spent away from him. The more time someone had to get her on their side. He knew he had to do something to keep her by his side. Plus, a surprise wedding meant no prenup, and no sudden accidents if she should be trying to take his money.

With so little left to lose, spending time with Vivian felt like she was Rapunzel, throwing her hair out of the tower. Just to have a few moments of her life to have to herself.

Siobhan had some work to do in order to deal with her homophobia. Vivian sharing her own experience with her family helped her quite a bit. Siobhan couldn't help but feel like she was holding something back from the story, but she wasn't going to press.
