Back in the present, Ryder spent two minutes explaining how he has found an alien metal in his room that has a possible chance of fixing the lie detect--(AGGHH!!!!) time machine-- to get Chase and his siblings back. The only questions the curious canines have are: "Will it work?", "what if it blows up", or "what if it doesn't help?"

Ryder: I don't know how I can answer those questions. But we have saved the day with less. We have to try.

Mini: But . . .

Nano: What good would it do---?

Tot: If it DOESN'T work?

Skye: I'm guessing . . . if it doesn't work . . . then . . .

Marshall: . . . we have no way of getting our friends back.

Zuma: Bummer.

Rubble and the rest of the pups whimpered at the thought of never seeing Chase or his siblings ever again. But Tristan and Sammy thought hard on this. It may not be their best option, but as Chase explained earlier, Tristan would have to go through whatever means necessary to bring his pups back. Then the German Shepherd stood up and finally spoke.

Tristan: We have to.

Everyone looked to him, shocked that he's strong enough to speak again.

Tristan: It could be our only option.

Tundra: But what if it doesn't work?

Tristan: If it doesn't work, then eventually Victor will notice the timeline has been shifted--

Rocky: And he'll come here to fix it!

Tristan: Right, But that's our contingency plan. If you're so grumpy about this alien metal thing being our only option, do you know any other option?

The PAW Patrol knew Chase's father had a point. Instantly, they forget their doubts about Ryder's plan to use the mysterious metal to fix the lie det---TIME MACHINE (Tot stifles his laughter) and bring back our heroes. Now they are the hopeful and grateful PAW Patrol again.

Skye: You know what? Tristan is right!

Everest: This may not be our best plan . . .

Marshall: But it's the one we got!!

Liberty: Well, what are we waiting for, a musical number? Let's do this!!!!

Sammy: You heard her!!!

And so, Ryder and Rocky got to work on applying the weird metal to the device. Rubble and the Junior Patrollers carried it to the tech-savvy boy and pup.  Everyone else was waiting in anticipation, praying that they can see their friends again. But . . . the wait was long. It took most of the day, actually. Sammy and Tundra had to give Ryder and Rocky's meals to their workplace. Ryder and Rocky tested the stability or texture of the metal to see if it's compatible. Rocky used his claw arm to keep the broken device in place while Ryder used a different claw to carry a scrap of the metal towards the device.

Rocky: Okay. If this doesn't work, we'll have to find another way.

Ryder: I'm ready. Are you?

Rocky: Terrified, actually.

Ryder: (compassionately) Hey. We're going to see Chase again. And Dolly. And Patchy. And Fluffy. Remember. If we fail to make these two things compatible, we might never see them again. But I KNOW we can win this. We WILL win this. I promise.
