MK11 - Aftermath

At the Dawn of Time. From afar, at an outstretch of rock, and on that rock is the Hourglass of Time. Two figures in front of the Hourglass. One is the Fire God Liu Kang, who has just knockedthe other, Kronika, the Keeper of Time, to her knees.

As Kronika rises, Liu Kang charges a fireball and blasts her straight in the chest. He shoots three more, each striking the helpless Kronika, before charging up a final blast from his hands like a flamethrower. 

The blast engulfs Kronika, and when it ends, her entire body has molded into what looks like molten organic glass. 

Liu Kang approaches the now crystalline form of Kronika. He chops her outstretched hand, shattering her arm to the elbow, then repeats the motion with her other arm, shattering that too. Growling in fury, he roundhouse kicks her across the face, and her entire head explodes into pieces. 

He then contemptuously pushes down what remains of her body, letting it break apart entirely upon impacting the ground.

With the Titan of Time lying dead at his feet, Liu Kang closeshis eyes, trying to find focus again...

"Our work is finished, Liu Kang."  

Liu Kang, now turned into a god of fire and thunder, turned to face his longtime mentor, who had reverted to his human form.

"Lord Raiden...." The new god said.

"I am merely Raiden now." The now human Raiden said as he turned to look at his predecessor. "You have proven worthy to take my place as the new Protector of Earthrealm, once it's restored."

Liu Kang responded by bowing to him with his hands in front for gesture. "You honor me, Raiden."

"The honor is mine, Lord Liu Kang." Raiden replied by bowing back at the fire god with his head. "The Sands of Time are now yours to shape. It falls upon you to architect a new history."

"The faith of all Realms? In my hands?" Liu Kang asked in doubt. "Raiden, I cannot do this alone." He shook his head.

"I shall advise you for as long as my mortality allows." Raiden replied. "But have no doubt. You are up to the task."

"Then together, let us begin."

Liu Kang then walked over to the Hourglass as he faced it. Fire soon began igniting in his body as he began waving his arms towards the Hourglass, to start reshaping history.

However, not too soon later, Liu Kang looked puzzled as he saw that cracks in the Hourglass were beginning to unfold as he tried to reshape time. But he kept trying, doing his best to craft the Sands of Time as elegantly as possible.

All of a sudden, something that sounded like an explosion, occurred to his side as he saw orange glowing to the side of his right.

Then, a voice boomed from his right.

A rather...unpleasant voice that belonged to someone they had thought dead...

"Cease, Liu Kang! Before you doom us all!"

Liu Kang turned to his right, seeing that a large portal had been opened next to the Hourglass. He saw the silhouettes of four dark figures whose details were blinded by the fiery light of the portal, slowly walking out of the portal.

Liu Kang stared as he tried to make out what little detail of the four figures as they walked closer and out of the fiery portal. His expression soon turned into concern as he recognized that voice too well...

Slowly, the four silhouettes of human figures walked out of the portal and finally revealed themselves.

Shang Tsung who was in front, walked out first, followed by Nightwolf, Fujin, and Jaune, who walked out of the portal last. An ominous tone filled the atmosphere as the four kombatants approached Liu Kang.
