that i never said
to anybody else.

i regret them.

they were handed over
with trembling hands.
the pieces of me
unfolded and raw.

you snatched them over,
held them to your heart
and claimed.
claimed that they would never,
ever,
see the darkness of the world.

i couldn't see
what was right in front of me.
i didn't see
the greediness
in your eyes.
i would've saw
you
for who you really were.
if only,
i wasn't so blinded
by the false promises
of love.

so
hey,
what if i took your call
as more than just some words?
as a message
inscribed in stone?
a signal,
an answer
to every unsaid question
i buried in the silence.

what if began to see it
etched into every moment.
writing on the wall
you never meant for me to read it
but yet, i did.
i read it.
i understood it.
and i fell.

i fell.
slipping through cracks,
droplets lost down a drain.
insignificant,
and unworthy
of your love.

in the end
my face was turning grey.
you claimed that i'm insane.
your words play tricks on me
shadows of the unseen.
i'm hallucinating now
about
what could've been
what should've been us.

theres shame,
guilt,
pain,
more pain.

you can't let them know
theres so much pain.
