The Hiding ( VALGRACE )

When I woke up to see the face of my roommate, I almost freaked before remembering the night before.

I slowly slithered out of his grasp going to the bathroom to brush my teeth before I heard him call out ''Leo, you there?'' I spit out the toothpaste before yelling back ''Yeah sparky, I'm alive'' 

I felt utterly humiliated from the night before. He was gone for just a few hours and I managed to get myself assaulted. I must have looked so pathetic laying there practically naked. I threw away the ripped clothes and made my way to the kitchen getting started on breakfast 

Jason came in rubbing his eyes sleepily before plopping down on the chair beside the island. He reached into a packet of fruit loops and put them in his mouth barely keeping his eyes open. 

Cute. I thought to myself

Ugh no fuck off brain. I mentally groaned 

''When are we going? And where?'' Jason asked yawning

I shrugged ''You could pack up while I gather some stuff in the shop'' He looked at me puzzled and I elaborated '' We're going to need weapons, you good with a katana?''

He shrugged ''Sure'' He came to stand beside me ''I know this deserted forest, it's not really close but if we get there it'll be safe from danger''

I nodded looking up at him '' We'll probably need to make a few trips to the supermarkets'' I said chopping up a tomato when we heard knocks on the door. 

Instinctively, I grabbed Jason's arms looking at him fearfully. He put a finger to his lips in a gesture for me to be silent before he grabbed my waist bringing me closer to him ''Don't move or make a sound you got it?'' He asked seriously , whispering in my ear

I nodded reluctantly letting go of him and watched as he made his way to a plant by the door then took a gun from in it. I watched with wide eyes as he opened the door pointing the gun at the person. ''Who are you and why are you here?'' He asked with an authoritative tone keeping the gun pointed at the intruder

''Sir, please calm down'' The guy wearing a thick full body suit said ''I am from the government giving you these papers to sign as the owner of the camper van. I'm sure you've been emailed about the current situation sir?'' Jason replied in positive ''And I assume you're Jason Grace?''

''Ah, yes I have and yeah that's me'' Jason said finally keeping his gun back to where he got it from ''I have to sign these?'' 

''Yes, along with the person who's going to be sharing with you- if here are any people that is'' The guy said

Jason beckoned me over while signing the papers. After he was done he handed them over to me. I could feel the guy's eyes roaming over me and that made me quite fucking uncomfortable. I handed the papers back to the guy and felt his fingers brush mine making me pull back. I noticed Jason watching the interaction with narrowed eyes which made me equally uncomfortable.

When the guy was gone I watched Jason be more grumpy than before. Was he. . . . . jealous? I quickly wiped the thought from my mind and continued with making breakfast.

After we'd finished with breakfast Jason caught my arm before I could get my keys ''No, I don't think we should go outside alone, just wait for me'' He said before quickly going to his room and coming out with a pepper spray.

''You took fucking pepper spray to go downstairs to the shop? you know I can lock it from inside right?'' I said looking at him disbelievingly 

He shrugged ''You'll never know, honey''

My cheeks heated as I glared at him ''Don't- don't call me that''

The place was literally fucking deserted.
