"THERE'S ONLY TWO BOXES LEFT." Joe said. Barry came over to decorate the house for Christmas. He of course loved spending time with Joe, but he really didn't want to spend hours decorating, so he brought Gracie along to make the decorating less boring.
"You know, at this rate, we'll be finished by Easter." Barry said.
"Bartholomew Henry Allen, don't do it." Gracie warned the second she saw the smirk on Barry's face.
Gracie's favorite holiday had always been Christmas. It was a known fact. When Barry called her and asked if she wanted to help decorate for Christmas, she absolutely couldn't say no.
It wasn't even five seconds later and the Christmas tree was filled with ornaments and ribbon, making Gracie groan.
"Okay, the only red-suited dude I want in this house right now is Kris Kringle, you got it?" Joe told Barry.
Reluctantly, Barry sighed as he used his speed once again, this time to remove the ornaments and ribbon he had just put on the Christmas tree.
"Uh, these ornaments are not gonna hang themselves." Iris said as she walked into the living room with a tray of mugs filled with eggnog.
"Grandma Esther's recipe..." Iris started as she handed the mugs around. "Light on the bourbon."
"Light?" Gracie asked, choking on the eggnog. She was sure there was more bourbon than eggnog in her mug.
"I always loved her definition of 'light'." Joe hummed before he pulled his ringing phone out of his pocket. "And the Christmas tradition continues."
"Sorry, kids, the D.A. wants to aske me some questions." Joe explained once he finished his phone call. "Make sure there's some nog left for me when I get back."
"No promises." Barry mumbled as Joe made his way out the door.
"What's happening?" Barry laughed as Iris shut off the music that was playing and pulled Barry to the floor next to the tree.
Gracie chocked on her eggnog once again when Iris took the mug out of her hands and pulled her onto the floor next to Barry.
"Give a girl a warning would ya?" Gracie said through coughs.
"We're doing this already?" Barry asked. Both he and Gracie realized that Iris was super eager to open presents early. "Christmas isn't for a few days."
"I couldn't wait any longer." Iris smiled as she pulled out a few presents. Gracie smiled at how excited Iris was. She was glad Iris shared the same Christmas spirit that she had.
Before Gracie moved away when she was twelve, the three of them all agreed to get each other a present for Christmas. And every year, there would be a fifty dollar budget. Gracie would always go way over said budget, of course. That's just how she was. She wanted to make everyone's Christmas special by getting them something they really wanted.
