TW: Homophobic slurs

Charlie

I had been looking to move out of my uni accommodation for a while. It wasn't just that it didn't feel like home, it was mostly because one of the guys who lived on the same floor as me was very homophobic.

I managed to avoid him most of the time, but when I did bump into him, he always had some comment to make about the way I dressed. It was quite the mood killer if I ran into him when bringing another man back to my room, so I stopped doing that and went to their place, which I didn't like doing.

Nick: Morning sexy 😜

Morning babe 😂

Nick: You're up early!

Urgh I know 🙄 I have an early lecture today, then more uni work, then another lecture and then book shop this evening

Nick: What time do you finish?

Charlie: 8 😊

Nick: Okay, I'll be free to talk this evening 😊

Charlie: Good 😘

Nick

It had been six days since Charlie and I had started talking, and already I was growing quite fond of him. He was funny and flirty, but also really kind and thoughtful. He'd already helped to boost my confidence when it came to posting on social media, which in turn helped my business.

I was excited to meet him in person, I already knew we'd get on really well, and he was reminding me that dating could actually be fun. Unfortunately, we wouldn't get to have our date... Not for a while anyway.

I was in my second lecture of the day, sat next to Levi. This was how I met him, and then he introduced me to Gracie and Aspen. I think he had a crush on me when we first met, but he isn't my type. We've kissed a few times when drunk, but nothing else has ever happened.

I'd consider him one of my best friends, he's flamboyant and hilarious, unapologetically himself. This rubbed off on me quite a bit, and I quickly became more sassy and confident. I felt like I'd unlocked personality traits I'd been hiding for years, and I stopped caring what other people thought about me.

"Are you still coming to the party tonight?" Levi asked me.
"I dunno babe, I honestly completely forgot and I'm working until eight." I reply.
"The party doesn't start until nine," he said, "and you forgot because you're too busy talking to the sexy personal trainer." He added in a teasing tone.
"He has a name." I sassed.
"Are you coming?" He asked again.
"I suppose so." I sighed dramatically.
"Good, meet us in Gracie's room at quarter to nine."
"Okay, but I'm not getting drunk." I laughed.
"We both know that's a lie." He giggled.

Hey! I'm back for a bit until my shift starts at 4 😊

Nick: Hey! Good timing, I just finished with my last client for today 😊

I completely forgot I agreed to go to a party tonight 😩 I'm sorry

Nick: A party on a Wednesday?! 😜

Uni life 🙄 I'll still message you though

Nick: Okay 😊

Nick

I liked that even though Charlie was going to a party, he still wanted to speak to me. Despite the fact we hadn't met, he seemed to have loyalty, which boded well for a potential relationship.
