Emily and Poppy met on Tinder, as many relationships seem to come about these days.

I remember the first time she showed me Poppy and my first words were, "Wow, she's hot."

Emily smiled shyly and said, "I know. She's really sweet, as well."

Little did Emily know, that Poppy was not so sweet.

Poppy essentially strung Emily along for 6 months, and wound up breaking Emily's heart in pieces. That was close to 2 years ago, and it took Emily months to get over it.

What angered me the most is that Emily is the sweetest soul, and Poppy knew that and took full advantage of how kind Emily is.

When Emily showed me Poppy's pictures, she made the comment, "I think she's out of my league."

I looked at Emily, "Em, no one is out of your league. Don't you dare say that. You're gorgeous, too."

It was true, Emily is stunning. She is half Filipino, from her moms side, and she has shoulder length thick, shiny black hair. Her eyes are a beautiful deep brown, and she has a scatter of freckles on her porcelain skin. Emily is shorter than me, she is only 5'1, and she has curves to her as well, I've always been jealous of her boobs.

I saw Emily the day after the bonfire, and after my confrontation with Poppy. We decided to get brunch that Sunday morning. Emily sat across from me, mimosa in front of her, and I had a cold brew in front of me, as I don't drink alcohol anymore.

To my surprise, Emily asked me, "How are things with Poppy?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" I asked her.

"Now I'm even more intrigued."

"Not very good, Em. I've got to tell you about our interaction last night."

I explained to Emily what happened, and she nearly choked on her mimosa at the part when Poppy asked me if I was in love with Emily.

"She has a lot of nerve," Emily shook her head, "I don't blame you for telling Sydney what happened with her and I, she asked why you didn't like Poppy. Now you know to not fully trust Sydney."

"That's for sure. It's a shame, I like Syd a lot. Annoying to know that I can't trust her."

I had work after getting brunch with Emily, and my shift was with Sydney and Diego. No Poppy this time.

She was, however, brought up.

"How is Poppy doing with training?" Diego asked Sydney when we had some downtime.

Sydney brightened at the mention of Poppy, which almost made me roll my eyes.

"She's doing great! I think she'll be able to be fully on her own after this coming week."

"Glad to hear it," Diego nodded, "Is she full or part time?"

"Full time, which is good that we will have another full timer here."

"Awesome," Diego said, "Ladies, are you two alright if I take my break?"

"Go for it," I said to Diego, and Sydney nodded in agreement.

Now is my chance to talk to her.

One thing about me is that I will never shy away from a confrontation.

"Syd, can we talk?" I asked her.

Sydney turned to me; her dark eyes wide. She had on a golden eyeshadow look that was beautiful against her dark skin.

"What's up, Delilah? Of course."

"Why did you tell Poppy what I said about her not treating my friend well? You said you wouldn't."
