Back in 2000, Chase's group waltz through the urban jungle of Adventure City, looking for a place for Hazel to call a home. That's got to be their priority before they return home. The five pups have been traveling like vagabonds, all just to make sure Hazel has a proper home in a time like this. They tried to find ways for "strays" like them help another stray get a family. Came up empty.
Dolly: Ugh!!! This will take forever!!!
Chase: We have to keep trying, Dolly.
Hazel: Fluffy? What does forever mean?
Fluffy: (chuckles) I know as much as you do about THAT, Hazel.
Patchy: Forever means "not-stopping", or it doesn't end.
Hazel: Wow. Forever sounds like a long time.
Patchy and Fluffy then were reminded of the possibility that they'll be stuck in the past forever. But now they didn't get doubt get into their minds, so they just smiled. Then Chase led them to an empty space where surprisingly enough, it's where the Pup Tower is going to be in the future. Nobody's been here for years, but that doesn't mean that it can give them a good hiding place. Good thing that they're using the stuff from last night as shelter.
Chase: We'll be here for tonight. (everyone settles down) Dolly, you watch the group while I find something to keep us hidden. Put the shelter together and keep watch until I come back.
Dolly: On it, bro.
Chase stealthily left to get some things to make sure nobody sees him or his group. Through marketplaces, he hid underneath the food stands and cars. Chase knew his training was paying off. Chase snuck into an alley and moved around the street where he found a discarded quilt made out of jeans, big enough to cover the shelter.
Chase: I hope this is going to be good enough for us. (grabs quilt) Nnngh!! It's! A lot! Heavier!! Ungh!! Than it looks!! Agh!!! Oi vey, this will take an hour. Ughh!!
Chase puts in all his might to drag the big quilt all the way to the other side of the block!! As Chase does this, he hopes nobody finds him OR his group. But he didn't know how sneaky his enemies were. At the dog catcher's office, Butch and Ruben were just feeding their prisoner dogs the usual slop. Seriously, it was just slop that farmers feed pigs. You could even feel sorry for the three dogs that attacked Hazel!
Bone: (face turns green) 🤢Yuck.
2000s Butch: C'mon! You'll love it! Not!!
2000s Butch and Ruben: Hahahahahahahaa. (sinister high five)
Blip. Blip. Blip. Blip. Blip. Blip. Blip.
Something on Ruben's computer was beeping. It was the scanner he had within every streetlight in Adventure City! He quickly got to work and found Chase on a monitor dragging the quilt!!!
2000s Ruben: Aha, Butch! It's one of those German Shepherds that disappeared yesterday.
2000s Butch: The German Shepherds that we found the day we got the Doberman, Great Dane and Tibetan Mastiff?
2000s Ruben: Yes, Butch. If we follow this dog, he'll lead us to the rest. (chuckles)
2000s Butch: (gets tools and even a taser staff) Let's have some fun. (chuckles)
Later, the two dog catchers got into their van to discreetly follow Chase by using the hidden cameras and did it discreetly enough to make sure he doesn't know. But what they didn't remember was that any dog, even a German Shepherd, has excellent hearing and sense of smell. Instantly, as their van reached into the street, Chase's ears twitched when he heard something. He dropped the quilt and listened closely.
