Jhanvi’s pregnancy had turned their cozy, routine life into a rollercoaster of emotions, but Sidharth, or Sid as everyone fondly called him, tried his best to keep up. His once calm and composed wife now seemed to operate on whims and cravings that came and went like the breeze, leaving Sid to adapt at a moment’s notice.

It was a Sunday evening, and as Sid settled on the couch with his laptop to finish some work, Jhanvi walked into the living room with a strange look on her face.

“I need chocolate,” she declared, her tone firm.

Sid looked up, blinking. “Chocolate? Now? We just had dinner.”

Jhanvi pouted, her hands instinctively rubbing her baby bump. “Yes, now. And it has to be the one with caramel inside, or I won’t eat it.”

“Alright, I’ll check the kitchen,” Sid sighed, but there was no chocolate with caramel to be found. He turned back to her, only to find tears welling up in her eyes.

“What’s wrong, Jhanvi?” Sid asked, worried.

“I wanted chocolate with caramel, Sid!” she cried, her voice breaking. “How can we not have it?”

Sid rushed to her side, putting an arm around her. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’ll go to the store and get some. You stay here, alright?”

Jhanvi wiped her tears, sniffling. “Promise?”

“I promise,” Sid said softly, kissing her forehead before heading out the door. The trip to the store wasn’t just a quick errand anymore—it had become part of a routine to keep his wife happy, and as exhausted as he was, Sid never complained.

Later that night, when they were both settled back at home, Jhanvi cradled the chocolate in her hands like it was a rare treasure, nibbling on it contentedly.

“Do you want to watch a movie?” she asked suddenly, her mood shifting again.

Sid glanced at the clock—it was nearly midnight. “A movie? Now?”

“Yeah, I’m not sleepy yet,” she replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Maybe something funny?”

Sid chuckled, shaking his head. “Alright, but only if you promise not to cry over the popcorn this time.”

Jhanvi giggled, nudging him playfully. “That was one time! And it wasn’t the popcorn, it was the sad scene.”

He smiled, pulling her close. “Okay, okay. Let’s find something light-hearted then.”

As they cuddled on the couch, Jhanvi rested her head on Sid’s shoulder, content for the moment. Sid felt the exhaustion from the day melt away, replaced by the warmth of their connection. Despite the mood swings, the tears, and the sudden cravings, Sid wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. It was chaotic, yes, but it was their chaos—and in every moment, he felt more deeply in love with Jhanvi and the life they were about to bring into the world.

“I love you, Sid,” Jhanvi murmured, half-asleep, as the movie played in the background.

“I love you too, Jhanvi,” he whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Every part of you—even the part that cries for ice cream at three in the morning.”

Jhanvi smiled, eyes closed, and Sid knew that no matter how unpredictable things got, they would always find their way through it together.
