Smile. That's all that Josh did. He smiled. Why wouldn't he? He had basically the perfect life.
He performed on stage every other night for thousands of people for most of the year, and when he had breaks from travelling the world, he spent it with his best friend, who also happened to be his boyfriend, doing what they love. Writing music. And that's exactly what they were doing right now.
The two boys were sat down at the baby grand piano that was in their makeshift studio, thinking of words to the new song they were making. Tyler surprisingly wasn't putting a lot of input into the song, but Josh didn't mind. He must be having a bad day, it happens to everyone. As long as Josh was able to spend time with his boyfriend, he was happy, whether Tyler spoke much or not.
"Hey, Ty, how about you are tired, you are hurt, a moth ate through your favorite shirt for the beginning of the hook? It's not really deep or anything but it'll match the beat we have going on." Josh proposed, looking down at the very little they've written down. It was fine though. They didn't really have a deadline, thank god.
Tyler nodded, stretching his arms above his head. "That's perfect, J. Write it down." He said with a smile. Josh smiled back, leaning over to kiss Tyler on the cheek.
He couldn't imagine his life being any more perfect than it already was.
"I'm gonna go get something to drink." Josh hummed, standing up from the piano bench. He saw Tyler nod in acknowledgement, not responding to Josh's statement. It was fine though, Tyler always gets like this when he's deep in thought.
The drummer walked to the small kitchen of their apartment, grabbing two glasses from the cupboard. Their house wasn't the biggest, but they both loved it. It was cozy and cute and all they needed. He filled the glasses with ice before pouring orange juice in one of them and cranberry in the other. Personally he hated cranberry juice, but it was Ty's favorite so he made sure the fridge was always stocked with it.
He grabbed a banana and bit the stem, carrying it with his mouth as he walked back to where Tyler was, setting down their drinks on the side of the old piano. He started unpeeling the banana, taking a bite. "Want some?" He said, voice muffled from his mouth being full of the fruit.
"No thanks." Tyler hummed. "I thought of a few more lines, I think."
"Nice. What are they?" Josh said once he swallowed, taking a drink.
"And all your friends fertilize, the ground you walk, lose your mind.. I thought it would work to finish the hook." Tyler said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"Dude, that's perfect! I'll write it down. I think I already have a few drum beats in mind for the song too. This is going to be great." Josh spoke, obviously excited.
Tyler just grinned in response, leaning over and kissing his boyfriends shoulder. "Lets relax a little, eh? I think we've gotten a good part of the song done."
Josh just nodded in response, running a hand through his dyed blue hair. He was happy.
