// this marks the halfway point of the fic. thanks for reading <3 //
After about an hour of them just sitting and talking at taco bell, the couple decided it was about time to leave. They didn't want to loiter anymore. Josh picked up his own trash and Tyler's uneaten food and drink, throwing it all away. He took Tyler's hand in his, something that he greatly enjoyed, as they walked across the street to the little park that was there.
They both sat down on the swings and Josh starting swinging back and forth a little bit, but not to the point where they couldn't have a conversation. "I really love you, you know?" He said after a few minutes, looking at Tyler with pure adoration in his eyes.
Tyler smiled, his cheeks turning a light pink. "I really love you too, J. You're my life now."
Josh just looked down at the ground, smiling and trying to hide his blush. "Do you want to walk around the lake?" He asked after a few seconds, gesturing at the trail.
Tyler nodded and they both set off, starting their trek.
They walked in a comfortable silence, not feeling the need to constantly talk to each other, because Josh knew that he had the rest of his life to talk. There was no doubt in his mind that Tyler would say yes when he proposed. They both agreed a few years ago that they couldn't imagine living without the other.
Josh noticed a dark brown spot on the side of Tyler's hat, lined up with his temple. He didn't know how he hadn't seen the stain until now.. It was kind of grotesque looking. "Hey TyJo?" He asked tentatively.
"Yeah, J?"
His heart warmed when he heard the nickname, but still wanted to ask about the hat. "Since when does your beanie have that stain on it? Do you want to go get a new one?"
Tyler looked over at him, obviously confused. "What stain?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed.
"Well, tha-" Josh stopped talking. The stain was gone. Huh. "Never mind, it's not there anymore. Must of been weird lighting." He shrugged.
Tyler just laughed and shook his head. "You're such a dork."
They fell back into the comfortable silence as the continued their walk, not speaking until they completed the trail, getting into Josh's car again.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Ty."
