The Alpha summit went well. The Alpha Elders agreed to question a higher power vampire authority order regarding the attacks on the two packs. As it went against a historical treaty that had been in effect for hundreds of years. They were impressed with Leon and his knowledge of the vampire he expected to be behind it. Lance of course had history that the vampire authorities and they could confirm when the elders questioned them. Hopefully they will help bring the psychopath to justice. Leon was even able to talk to Alpha Dolan Thistle, not as relaxed and friendly in nature as what he would of like. It was to be expected though. A war and decades of hostility between the packs couldn't be undone by a vampire attacks and three days. He was able to offer the Southern Shadow pack a referral to a large tender his pack's company had just landed. Bringing a large amount of business to them, the size was nothing to scoff at either. He seemed to be very eager with the offer even though he was trying to put on a straight face with Leon. Leon also mentioned that he suspected that a wolf from his alpha unit may be his daughter's mate, and if it was possible to arrange a meeting in mutual territory to see if this was the case. Leon was also able to slip in how it made sense that the Moon Goddess would want their packs to become peaceful with each other and this would be a good way to do it. Alpha Dolan seemed to be quiet perplexed how Leon apparently knew of this. But didn't reject the idea completely, just said that he would get back to him. Overall he was quiet pleased about how the day turned out. He seemed to be gaining a lot of respect from the other Alpha's and that could only mean good things for his pack. He was excited to finally be heading back home to Elara. He had been texting her updates all day and knew as soon as he was close enough he would be mind linking her with all the things he was going to do to her when he got back. He was sitting in one of the pack's private jets responding to his subordinates about the bullets and fire arms they need to build as soon as possible. Not to mention a new training regime that needed to be implemented so their warriors could shoot down the filthy blood suckers. When a new notification came through, it was the tracker on Elodie's phone letting him know she was on the move. Keep safe Ms Swinton he thought. He closed the app and called the coroner's office. "Justin, sorry to disturb you I need you to meet me in the lab later this evening. There are some tests I need to be run as soon as possible."
Emmerson sat in the driver's seat of one of the pack's black SUVs. Elara was in the back seat humming to herself. She seemed to be in good spirits ever since Alpha Leon came back from the Alpha Summit. Although it was unlike her to sit in the back, he suspected she might be trying to give him his space. It was a big day for him. Alpha Leon informed them today that Alpha Dolan had taken up the referral of one of Silver Engineering's largest clients and also agreed for Emmerson to meet up with his daughter, Dorothy Thistle. Emmerson's suspected mate. It was suggested, mostly from Elara that since Dorothy was the head of projects that they run a meeting ensuring that the client's requirements will be met with the referral. Alpha Leon and Elara however, had already discussed the introduction of Southern Tech services with the client, and they were verbally on board. This meeting should confirm all the details of their services and ensure the client's requirements are met, lastly getting everything in written confirmation so the project can take place. It was also the perfect opportunity for Emmerson to meet with Dorothy, something he was not looking forward to. He didn't want his mate, me missed Elodie. Every day he had been without her was soul crushing. He just wanted to start searching for her already! He was eager to reject Dorothy and complete this stupid agreement he had made with Elara and Leon.
"You still seem pretty low Emm" Elara sighed at him.
'As soon as this is done I can go find Elodie." He huffed back at her, as he pulled into the carpark of a office building located in Fernestshire. Alpha Leon had booked it for the purpose of the meeting. It meant they were meeting on neutral territory in human civilization so there was a reduced risk for anything to become hostile. Emmerson stepped out of the car. He was wearing a suit and tie for the occasion, and wanted to make the best professional impression he could. He felt confident that, professionally, this meeting would go well for both packs. He opened the door for Elara. After all she was his future Luna and representing the CEO of Silver Engineering. She was dressed very professionally. A formed fitted high-waisted white skirt with a blue blouse, and white stilettoes. Her hair done up in a neat bun. They walked together in silence to the lift taking it up to the top floor.
We will mind link from here on out okay? If for any reason you wish to leave with her? Just let me know, I can make"
"No such thing will happen." He responded via mind link cutting her off.
"Why are you so confident about this? This is your destined mate, the one hand selected for you, the one who has a part of your soul! And you think you can just flick a switch off. My mate bond almost killed me.."
"I have a choice Elara! I need a choice!" He yelled down the link to her.
The elevator doors opened and the sweet smell of apples came rolling in. He tried to keep his focus. He knew this was going to be difficult. He put his hand to face his face covering his nose to try and stop the sweet scent from invading him like it was some kind of poison.
The memory of Elodie eating the green apple the first day they were together came right back to him. He remembered her eyes meeting his over the table. How he could tell she was scared and unsure about everything even though she was trying to put on an intermediating front. How her hair was still wet from coming out of the shower so fast and how her clothes sticking to her damp body. He remember when she pushed her hair back showing him her left ear, but also her neck and collar bone, how she brushed her hand down her neck and unbutton her shirt. Wait that last part never happened! The bell of the lift doors closing made him realize he had been standing in there for far too long. Elara was looking back from the entrance with a confused look on her face, as he managed to get his hand between the doors before they closed.
He stepped out of the lift and looked into the glass doors of the meeting rooms.
Just as Elodie described her. A tall attractive brunette woman, athletically built which was expected for the Alpha's daughter.
"Well Cypress is she our mate?"
"mmm probably" he grumbled and slinked to the back of his mind. "Mmm probably? What the hell does that mean? Surely you should be more enthused than that? I mean I am completely with you on this bud, but even I am somewhat shocked at your response."
He opened the glass door holding it open for Elara as she walked in, taking a seat at the head of the large table. The windows of the office buildings didn't look out on too much, just the towns industrial and commercial sectors.
Emmerson felt Dorothy's eyes on him and just as he looked up to her to greet her.
"Mate!" She whispered.
FUCK! I really just hoped that since I could brush off the scent so easily she could too! He cursed himself.
If I ignore it she might just get the hint.
"Emmerson Knight, Gamma of the Silver Thorn pack and this, of course if Elara Daughton, soon to be our Luna, pleasure to meet you Ms Dorothy Thistle."
"Please to meet you" Elara tried to smile but it was obvious she felt the tension in the room as well.
Her mouth just hung open for what seemed like eternity.
"Really? You aren't going to accept me as your mate. You know I am your mate right?"
Emmerson sighed she wasn't going to give up and make this easy. Not like he could blame her. Most wolves have been waiting their entire lives to find their chosen mate, and here was her's standing in front of her, not even acknowledging it.
"Cypress says probably, but he isn't that interested and, to be honest, I have feelings for someone else."
"Isn't that interested?!" Both Elara and Dorothy raised their voices at him almost in unison.
"What do you mean? How is that even possible Calypso is going crazy right now! And Cypress isn't interested?!"
"Yeah I said what I said. Now can we get on with this."
"Who do you have feelings for? I demand to know!" Dorothy ordered.
That got Cypress's attention but not in a good way. She sounded like she could wish to harm Elodie.
"You are not entitled to that information!" Cypress came forward, his yellow eyes glaring at Dorothy threateningly. Calypso came forward to greet him
"Welcome to the party Cypress care to play?" She was playing with him. Cypress swiftly returned back into his mind.
"I told you, he isn't interested," Emmerson said and took a seat besides Elara.
"This is unacceptable. Tell me who this girl is!"
