It's been peaceful. The sun shining nicely down on the world, a soft cool breeze swaying sunflowers, and birds singing off in the distance. Is quiet. Almost too quiet.

Amidst the fields of flowers, the hills and forests are tall and strong structures.

On one side of a long worn path where many feet have walked, houses of many orientations on small mounds can be seen. A tall pink tower rises above the wall surrounding it. A bright blue and green globe is attached securely to the ground.

On the other side of the path, in a corner atop a mountain, 3 pink cottages reside. A clean, packed path runs down in front of the houses. Beside it, a tall tower, made of a mix of materials looks over the land.

Across from the mountain, a slow moving lane of blue can be seen. Looking in the middle, you can spot a pink petal platform in the shape of a heart,. Above it, a heart shaped house, pink in colour.

Continuing on you can spot a tidy path leading up to a small castle like structure beside a taller hill. It's calm and welcoming.

If you go down a round, odd cream colour house sits on a hill. A weird stair pattern winds upwards towards the ever blue sky.

There's a rocky red and orange sandy environment in the bottom corner. Above a very immediate drop a house in the form of the dog. Rumors call him Baxter.

If you jump into a pool of water below and carry on across a river, an eerie black, deepslate wall rises up higher than the others with long pointed spikes on top. Inside a garden of sunflowers dance around.

A building that almost looks like town hall sits on the right. Pillars line the edges and a green, yellow and red dot are positioned in the middle of the roof. To the left is an acacia shop, a dusty yet bright orange colour. Out of every place so far this one has the emptiest feel. Though it's the cleanest and seems the most lived in it feels... off.

But if you leave this place of sunflowers and offness and walk toward the centre of this place a large boulder, smaller rocks forming a semi circle around 3 main things. 3 small pedestals are set up, each with a different word.

Succeed.

Reroll for a harder task.Fail.

Fail. What an ominous word. To fail is to have to watch as others succeed. To fail is to not reach expectation. To fail is to not be enough.

Succeed. Does it really mean you were enough? Does it really mean you did what you meant to do. Or is succeeding just as good as failing.

Beside what those call the "Secret Keeper", sitting amongst the long grass is a man in a green shawl, lined with sewn on sunflowers. He watches over the world... his world.

Half a heart. It's all he's been on since he "won" secret life. He'd know what succeeding feels like. If you asked him what it felt like he'd say one word.

Failing.

Despite winning, he was stuck here. He wasn't taken home and he wasn't given any time indication of how long he'd have left. He knew he'd been there for a year by marking down the passing days on the Secret Keeper.

But it's not exactly the fact he was stuck in this world that upset him most. It's the fact he had no one at all.

But he's been trying to keep happy and busy! Keeping Trader Scars stocked up, harvesting sunflower seeds- though no one was buying it.

Occasionally he'd press the "Succeed" button again only to be given the same repetitive task.

Win Secret Life

He thought if he lost his last half a heart it would set him free... it didn't. He'd just die painfully and wake up in front of the Secret Keeper, once again on half a heart. One small trip and he'd repeat the pain of respawning.

He thought pressing succeed would take him home, however the world decided to be cruel and would repeatedly give him the same task.

So he spent most of his day just sitting and thinking, fiddling with his old Task book with his past tasks.

1) Call anyone but their real names for 30 minutes [FAILED]

He smiled to himself for a moment, memories of his very first task flooding back to him.

"Ooo an apple!" he called out loudly so the owner of said apple would hear.

"No that's my apple!" someone down below responded.

"What was that Grayland?" the scarred man smiled to himself, proud to have not failed his task yet.

After some back and forth he sighed.

"I've lost so many hearts guys, it's been bad."

All of a sudden he turned to see a heart fly over from the moustached man to him and he gasped and grinned widely.

"AWWW MUMBO I'M GONNA HUG YOU-" and then his tasked flashed across his mind. "Oh I just failed my task."

But for whatever reason the gods had been on his side, gifting him permission to reroll but for a harder task that he in fact managed to succeed.

Smiling at the oddly fond memory he continued reading through his old tasks.

2) Be Pearlescentmoon's hype man for 30 minutes without being called out [SUCCESS]
3) Remove all the light sources from around 5 peoples bases. If someone questions you, you need to put them back for that player. [SUCCESS]
4) Do the opposite of what people tell you to do. [FAILED]
5) Starting with grass seeds, trade your way up to a golden apple. Minimum of 4 trades. [SUCCESS]

He'd always been good at trading, so through his trusty shop, Trader Scar's, he finished his task quickly.

6) You are in a game of chicken with Bdubs & Impulse. You pass if you win more than 3 chicken competitions. [SUCCESS]
7) Become the villain of the server. Grief. Steal. Seek server wide domination. You pass if you are actively disliked by the majority of the other players. [TASKED REPLACED THEN FAILED]
8) You must sabotage at least 3 red player's bases without being seen. [SUCCESS]

And finally his current task. The one he thought he succeeded. The task he won with. He'd know all about winning wouldn't he. Is it really winning if he'd lost so much in the process. Is it really winning if everyone else was gone. Is it really winning if in the end he was alone.

Is winning just glorified failing.

Looking off into the distance he saw the sun setting. Brilliant colours of orange and yellow danced like fire across the sky, clouds like smoke. Speaking of fire all of a sudden the clouds seemed to turn to a storm of thick, black smoke. Off in the distance he could hear yelling. With a deep shuddering breath he ran off towards the yells, not yet noticing his green shawl turning a dark, obsidian black adorned with red petals.
