The clash of blades

A few hours after last chapter ended

Y/n pov
I way laying on my bed with my hands behind my head while thinking about earlier. I softly touched the place where Charlie kissed me earlier and had a warm feeling start to grow in my chest after touching the place...but I was also confused by her gesture. As I laid there my door was knocked on. So I got up and made my way to the door and opened it revealing Alyssa. I looked at her and replied "What do you want Wendigo?" She looked at me and said "I came to check on you my good fellow. I haven't seen you anywhere today and didn't hear a peep so I thought you were dead. Wouldn't that be a coincidence?" I looked at her unamused and said "Well I'm clearly alive. So good day Alyssa." I went to shut my door until she put her hand on the door which prevented me from shutting it all the way. Alyssa then said "Now that wasn't very gentleman-like to shut a door on a females face." I gave her a deadpan stare and said "I do not care if it's very "gentleman-like" of me to do that Alyssa. So I'm going to shut the door again and you can piss off." I shut the door leaving her surprised and I walked back over to my bed and climbed in it and got comfortable again and brought my knees to my chest and hugged them.

Timeskip till noon

Y/n pov (still)
I heard my door open and thinking it was Alyssa I said "I told you once already Wendigo to piss off." I then heard Vaggie said "Well...I'm not the radio demon so I won't piss off. I came here to fetch you for lunch. But unfortunately it seems like you're not in a good mood." I heard my door shut and I let out a sigh of relief that she left...until I felt something sit behind me. I then said "Why are you still here even. Can't you tell that I would like to be alone." I heard Vaggie clear her throat and said "I feel like theres more to it than being alone. No one just suddenly gets off the couch and suddenly disappears the entire day. I may not be as good as Charlie when it comes to tending to others emotional struggles but I'll give it a shot alright. Talking to me will be the only way you'll get me to leave. I decided to just stay quiet and hope that'll she'll leave." I felt her lay down and she said "I can do this all day you know."

Timeskip 2 hours

Vaggie pov
I rested next to him waiting for him to start talking until he said "Fine you want the answer so badly. I propose for us to spar." I sat up and said "Sparring...then meet me on the roof in 15." He nodded and I quickly left. I started getting prepared to fight when it occurred to me. I remember back to when I was still an exorcist and one of my subordinates mentioning that fighting is another way of communicating because the way they act will tell you everything about them." I snapped out of my thoughts and got ready and headed towards the roof. When I arrived I seen Y/n at the other side staring at the sky. I watched him turn around and seen him and plucked a few feathers.

I then remembered back in the limo he mentioned to be careful with his feathers because they're extremely sharp. I seen a static expression on his face. I then pulled out my spear and remembered that he is the son of Azazel and hearing that Azazel held off both Archangel Michael and Archangel Camael in a fight on his own. I should be cautious and try to decipher what was bothering him earlier. He stood there waiting for me to attack. I then ran at him and before I could strike him he flipped over me and I heard whistling and when I turned I seen feathers flying at me. I then hit them with my spear and seen the feathers were actually damaging the spear.

I then seen him about to snap my fingers and I realized he was about to make me explode. I heard him snap and feared for the worse but I seen my spear shatter like glass. He then said "Running from battle makes you weak. I have no intentions of killing you Vaggie. Killing you would make Charlie hate me. So stop being a cowardly woman and get serious." When he mentioned Charlie would hate him that gave me an idea on what was bothering him. As I took a closer look I seen a faint lipstick mark on his forehead.

I watched him hold his palm out and seen a white glow. I then watched something start to be created. After a few moments I seen that he created a sword and he dropped it on the ground and kicked it towards me. I then heard him taunt me by saying "Pick it up woman." He then sternly said "If you want any chance of me saying anything. You'll pick it up and stop cowering" I picked it up and swung it and realized how light the blade was. I ran my hand on the flat side of the blade and seen it glow a faint white. I then took stance and seen him conjure up a sword of his own. We then circled each other waiting for one of us to strike first. I watched him launch himself at me and we started sparring for real.

(This is how the fight went and Y/n is Alfonso)

As the dust settled Y/n fell to his knee and I noticed how shaky he was...but he pushed himself up again to come at me again. He's determined to spar with me even going as far to push himself beyond exhaustion. I watched him start to charge at me but his movements were beginning to become sluggish.

Y/n pov
Come on Y/n. I can push myself even further than this. I am strong enough to keep pushing myself even further. I brought up my blade just for it to be redirected. I will not accept defeat. I need to keep pushing. I immediately went to sweep her legs from underneath her just for her to jump over it. I slowly stood up just to be shoulder charged onto the ground again. I went to get up until I felt the blade of the sword I gave Vaggie gently touching my jugular but not to where it pierces my skin. I then heard Vaggie say "You have clearly exhausted yourself. Just admit defeat already." The word defeated rang through my ears and I smacked the blade away and slowly got up and said "I won't accept defeat. I will keep fighting even if it's my last breath." I then punched my cheek and it woke me up. I grabbed my sword off the ground and took stance again. Vaggie picked up the sword and took stance. We then charged at each other and started fighting again.

Timeskip till 7 pm

Y/n pov
I was thrown onto the ground and I was becoming increasingly exhausted. I slowly got up and I had cuts all over my body. I tiredly said "I...cannot...lose." I ran at her and brought the sword above my head and went for a downwards slash until she used her sword to disarm me. My vision began blurring and I ran at her and yelled "I CANNOT ACCEPT DEFEAT!" I brought up my fist and went to attack her with what remaining strength I had and she didn't budge an inch. I was beginning to lose consciousness and my legs gave out and I fell until I was caught.

Vaggie pov
I caught Y/n and I heard him tiredly say "Father...I'm sor-" I then noticed he passed out in my arms. After a few minutes I realized why he kept saying he won't accept defeat. He doesn't want to dishonor his family's name. I watched both my weapon and his weapon designated." I sat down while holding Y/n in my arms. I then seen Alyssa come over and said "That was an absolutely stunning performance you both put on there. You both were dancing with such grace as your blades clash. That was one of the best performances I have seen yet. The way both of you were det-" I cut her off by saying "cabrear a wendigo hijo de puta" (means piss off Wendigo fucker in english)

I watched her walk away and said "Charlie shall be up here in a few. I informed her of everything" I kept quiet and she disappeared. After a few moments Charlie bursted through the roof access door and seen both me and Y/n. She ran over and said "What in the hell happened here?!?" I explained to her what happened for the past several hours during mine and Y/n's duel and she said "Did you have to be so rough with him?" I then bluntly said "He refused to step down and kept fighting as his life depended on it...but I must ask. Did you give him a peck on the forehead sometime today." She thought for a few seconds and said "Now that you mentioned it. I did early this afternoon why?" Thats why you were upset when I seen you. You were having trouble trying to process what the gesture meant. I then looked at Charlie and explained what happened when I found him and she seemed surprised. I then heard Y/n start murmuring that he's not weak and he'll win.

I started to gently run my fingers through his hair and seen that he stopped murmuring to himself and entered a peaceful slumber. Charlie picked Y/n up then helped me to my feet. We then made our way inside and the first thing we did was go to Y/n's room so Charlie can lay him on his bed and then me and Charlie went downstairs to eat and get settled down for the night.
