I woke up to an empty bed today

I woke up to an empty bed today. I looked around and realised Arsh was nowhere in the room.

That made me frown because today was Sunday. Which means no work. And yet, he was not here on the bed with me, sleeping soundly while having me in his close embrace.

So, I made my way out of the bedroom to search for my pookie.

"Arsh, where are you love?" I asked but I couldn't find him. So I made my way towards the kitchen. He wasn't even there. That made my frown deepen. Then at last, I reached the home garden and welp! There he was, speaking to someone on call.

He looked tense. As if he was having some..... argument with someone.

I wanted to go and eavesdrop but I remembered how much lack of knowledge on the matter resulted in that huge misunderstanding two days back. So shaking my head, I made my way back to the bedroom instead.

After freshening up, and taking a warm bath, I came back down to see him now sitting on the couch, with his hands rubbing his face. He took a deep sigh and I knew something was wrong.

So I walked to him and kneeled down in front of him, taking his hands in mine. He looked at me surprised as he was about to say something but stopped himself. I think instead, he waited for me to say something "what is it Arsh? Is something wrong?" I asked him, caressing the back of his palm in a soothing manner by my fingers.

He sighed and pulled me closer, so that my hands were on his thighs as he put his head on my head lightly. "It's about Saransh's case. The criminal has some connections in politics and is now threatening me to leave the case or else he'll ruin my career." Arsh said.

That made me frown.

What kind of worthless piece of shit that criminal?

No wonder he deserves the worst of the punishments.

"Is he a menace?" I whispered with fury.

Sighing, Arsh planted a soft kiss on my forehead "calm down sweetbean. I'll take care of this. We have enough connections to get away with it too. It just boils my blood to know how people are misusing the connections for......crime." he said and signed.

I got what he meant to say..

"We can't change them. But we can make sure to be better right? And you are the best one." I say and kissed his nose. His warm and soft smile made butterflies erupt in my tummy.

Sometimes, men also need love and pampering.

"Let me make you your favourite aaloo parathe. Come on, leave the worry for now. I know you will take care of it" I say and pull him towards the kitchen.

I wasn't much worried about the threat because he keeps getting such threats by the criminals he fights against. But, the thing is, that I do worry about his mental health a lot.
