Chapter 10

The next morning I woke up first, and I found myself on the floor lying on top of Yami with his arms around me. I got up. I don't know how I ended up in that position, but anyway...

I removed the cigarette from Yami's lips. He smokes even while he is asleep, it can't be normal, so I took a blanket and cover him with it.

I prepare breakfast, and then eat it, while the others join me. The last one is Yami who comes in puffing something about a cigarette thief, he takes out another one. I briefly laugh, but I manage to contain myself. By now the mission has been communicated to everyone and we are leaving.

I have already packed my bags, Finral takes us to Raque then we head to the beach. I realize that we forgot Gordon, but it's late so I lie down on the beach next to Vanessa and sunbathe.

It doesn't take long before Yami joins us on the beach, but he's not wearing a swimsuit but rather a sort of towel around his waist. I look away embarrassed at the sight of his practically naked body, but he doesn't have much trouble staring at me. Though I don't notice it since I'm turned away trying not to blush.

Yami makes his speech where he says that at the full moon if Noelle learns to master her spell we will be able to reach the temple, otherwise we will die, in fact even if my magic of water is powerful, I have to keep another spell active, I won't resist the strong mana currents even with the mana zone.

After this I am dragged by Vanessa into the water where a splashing fight begins. I try to avoid looking at Yami who is now on the beach and watches us while he smokes, but I have a lot of difficulty as he continues to stare at us/me.

After a while I end up training with Asta in running, and I must say that he is very, very fast. I always stay a few steps behind him and it annoys me a bit. I start to put more effort into it and I catch up with him, we are now at the fifth lap of the beach, when I hear Magna joins as well as Luck. But they can't reach us.

At the same time on the beach Vanessa is talking to Finral e Charmy, "I didn't know your sister could run that fast anyway," begins Finral, "When she puts her mind to it she can do anything" comments Vanessa. "Well after this effort they will be hungry" says Charmy cheerfully.

Meanwhile we continue to run, around the 20th lap Magna e Luck give up and fall to the ground half unconscious, then start cheering, Magna cheers for Asta and Luck for me. I know the others are watching us too, but now I'm completely focused on the race.

Asta distances me by a couple of steps, "Don't even think about it! You won't beat me!" I growl/scream, I speed up and overtake him, "It's not over yet!!" He shouts at me. Suddenly we find ourselves in front of a group of people, I avoid them by jumping, but Asta is forced to stop and that makes me win.

"I won!" I scream then I collapse on the beach panting, Asta is also on the ground, "I didn't know you could run so fast senpai" Asta tells me gasping. "I just don't do it often, but it can be fun". We sit down then we get up and we head towards the others, once I arrive I lie down in the only free space left, that is, next to Vanessa who makes room for me.

"I'm hungry, Charmy!" I gasp, holding out my hand, she hands me a muffin, which I devour in two bites, then I drink some water. "AH, better!" I say satisfied, then I turn to Asta who is already back doing push-ups, shouting something like "I have to train to beat senpai-Seline!" I chuckle, "then I guess you won" Vanessa says.

I nod, "but only because we almost collided with a group of people" I add, then I hear Yami behind me say to Magna "Pay up" then a jingle as a bag with some coins is thrown by Magna towards Yami who catches it. "Did you bet on the result?" I ask, "Yeah" says Magna, I look at Yami a little surprised, "and between me, someone who almost never trains, and him, someone who does nothing but train, you choose to bet on me?"

He snorts a little, and the smoke from the cigarette hits me, making me cough, but he maintains eye contact. "Yes, you could see that you wanted to win". What? I thought, but I tried not to show the fact that his answer didn't convince me.

We end the day on the beach with some card games, Magna and Yami always try to get us to bet, but we categorically refuse.

The evening arrives and we get ready for dinner, Noelle and Asta are not there. They're probably training.
