As the night progressed, Alastor still lay in bed, contemplating his feelings and how he should distract himself. He turned around and grabbed the box of fingers Rosie had given to him. He opened it up, took one out, and bit down. It tasted like comfort to him at the moment, helped him forget a little even. He put the box away, not wanting to overindulge in treats, not right now. Soon, he got the idea of writing inside his diary, which always helped clear and calm his insane mind. He took out the red-covered notebook, flipped to a page, and began writing.
As he wrote he started thinking of how he should describe Lucifer.
"Hm, perhaps, 'pretty'? No, no! I need something more insulting... Hm, 'horrendous'! That'll do," Alastor said aloud as he began writing insulting things to describe Lucifer.
Insulting others always made Alastor hate them more than he ever could, but something was off. No matter how much he insulted Lucifer's looks, attitude, and tone, he didn't find himself hating the King of Hell. His hand started shaking mid-writing, and he tried harder, writing more hard-hitting insults. But nothing changed, nothing made him have more of a hatred towards Lucifer. Alastor sighed, feeling defeated. He continued to finish up his writing, hoping it would change something in his mind. He put his pen down, closed the notebook, and quickly hid it under his bed.
"Can't have any of the others finding it! My, how they would blush by my way with words!" He laughed maniacly to himself.
The sound of the hotel's lobby door opening echoed through the entire building.
"The others are finally back. Might as well welcome them back home while I'm here," Alastor chuckled as he walked out of his room.
Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Sir Pentious, Angel Dust, and Niffty were all there, but no sign of Lucifer. That didn't bother Alastor, as he didn't think about it. He walked down the hotel stairs and welcomed everyone back.
"Welcome back, everyone! Good to see you all had a great time suffering with ones none of you care about even the slightest!" He smirked.
"Hi, Alastor!! Wait, where's my dad? Is he in his room or-" Charlie started to ask before being cut off.
"Don't worry, my dear! I'm sure Lucifer is fine. Anyway, how about we all just enjoy the rest of the night? Nice and relaxing when the King isn't around, am I right?" He nudged Charlie a little and chuckled.
"The whole point of the activity was for everyone to stay with their partner and never leave them for anything. Al, where is my father?" She asked.
"Like I said, he's more than likely fine. He can handle being by himself! Now, let us move on to other fun activities, shall we, my dear?" He replied, clearly wanting to change the subject.
"She isn't worried about her father not being able to handle himself, she's upset because you left him when the whole fucking point of this exercise was to get to know your selective partner better! We will be saying this one more time, Alastor, where is Lucifer?" Vaggie exclaimed out.
Alastor rolled his eyes, knowing he wasn't getting out of avoiding Lucifer, "He was at the duck pond. I'm sure he still is, you know how he is with his ducks."
Charlie sighed, "I know I don't ask you for much, but could you please bring him back? It's getting late and I don't want anything happening to him."
"Charlie, my dear, your father is billions of years old, I'm sure he can come home when he's ready! Not to mention, I am-" Alastor began coughing dramatically, "Much too sick to go on a wild goose chase for your father! Maybe have someone else do it, hm?"
"We weren't Lucifer's partner and we all know you aren't sick, Alastor. Go out there and make sure he's okay!" Vaggie demanded.
Alastor groaned in defeat, he shoved Charlie and Vaggie out of his way and began walking out. Niffty began cleaning as everything seemed dirty to her, but Alastor's room interested her, as she was never allowed to clean in there. She immediately ran inside and started cleaning. She got under the bed and saw a red-covered notebook, she opened it and began reading.
"Murder, murder, more murder- Oh! 'Deep Hatred for Lucifer Morningstar' this sounds soooo smutty!!" She giggled and read harder.
As she read, she blushed and imagined insane things between the two powerful men.
"Wowee! Didn't know Al thought of Lucifer as such a power bottom! HEHEHEHEEHEHEHE!! Lucifer is a bad boy that needs to be punished! Oh-" She read harder, "Alastor really seems to be into Lucifer! I wonder if they ever do the deed secretly."
Niffty finished reading and took the journal with her, she was gonna use it as inspiration for her fanfictions. Soon, Alastor returned with the King of Hell himself, Lucifer. He shoved Lucifer away and began walking back into his room. He got down and started searching for his journal, he had a lot on his mind again that he needed to get it down. When he couldn't find it, he panicked. Someone couldn't have possibly stolen his journal, could they have? But how, he wondered.
Oh no... He left his door unlocked and Niffty got in! He sat on the floor, pissed off, but that quickly turned into fear. He knew Niffty had a knack for dry snitching. Alastor stood up, walked to Niffty's room, and opened the door. He closed it behind him.
"Niffty, darling, you wouldn't happen to have something I value?" He asked.
"No, why?- Oh! Do you mean this journal I stole from your room? Yeah, it was so steamy and sounded so very smutty!" She giggled like a psychopath.
"I really need that back, dear. Hand it over now, please!" Alastor demanded, ready to steal it away from her.
"No! I need it for my collection! Also, why do you have a thing for Lucifer?" She immediately questioned.
"I do not have a thing for him! I was writing despite how much I hate him, you see. I would never fall for anyone like the King of Hell!" He stammered trying to play smug.
"Then why did you write, 'Lucifer is so horrendous I could strangle him so hard until he has barely any oxygen'? That's something you usually say when you love a bad boyyyyy!!" She giggled, clearly reading the only sentence that was filled with spite.
"When you say it, you make it sound weird, dear! I can assure you... I do not like him at all!" He gulped, still trying to play cool.
Alastor was sick of this conversation and immediately took the journal away from Niffty and ran out back to his room. He shut the door behind him and collapsed on the ground, relieved to have his safe space back. He grabbed his pen, flipped to a clean page, and began writing down his feelings, feeling much better and calmer now. He held back on saying anything good about the King of Hell, continuing to write in spite. His breath quickened and his heart pounded, this wasn't helping anymore. He threw his pen and journal at the wall and began crying in frustration. He hated that he felt this way.
He hated himself for even letting his guard down around Lucifer, it only brought him the kind of pain you get when you love someone but know it's pure stupidity and a waste of time, to you at least. Thoughts raced in his head, and Alastor yelled out in irritation, he wanted this to stop.
