Before the netball match, Yooyeon sat down on the benches in front of the court, tying her shoelaces. The thud behind her was so loud that she didn't even need to look behind to see who it was.

'are you sure you're fit to play?'

'obviously. Why aren't you sitting next to me? What are you afraid of' Yooyeon replied.

'do you want people to think I'm flirting with you? You wish.'

'go back to your handball court or whatever it's called. Don't touch my head.' Yooyeon said, dodging quickly to Seoyeon's head rub.

'Well I see you're fully recovered now, huh', going in for another headslap.

'Stop playing around', Yooyeon laughed.'

A camera shutter flashed near them.

'Oh come on guys, why'd you stop, I would've taken another great picture of that.' Hayeon teased, making Seoyeon immediately stand up and leave, 'I could've caught that sweet moment on camera.'

Yooyeon scoffed, 'what do you want.'

'Seoyeon told me you hurt your shoulder the other day.'

'yeah, it's fine now.'

'That's good. I've got a gift for you too', Hayeon said, sitting down next to Yooyeon, 'here.'

Yooyeon's POV

She handed me a bracelet. But it looked exactly like the one Hayeon gave Seoyeon in middle school. Like it was the EXACT same.

'I was going to give it to you in 10th grade, but you left so suddenly.' Hayeon said, putting it on for me, 'it looks cool on you. Do you like it?'

'It's nice, thanks.' I said, staring at the bracelet, for a strange amount of time.

'you okay?'

'Hayeon.'

'mm?'

'Do you like Seoyeon?'

'Me?' she laughed at me. 'come on. Seoyeon is just a friend. Like you are.'

'okay' I said quietly.

'why are you smiling? Do you like me?'

Her question caught me off guard, but I kept my smile steady. I didn't want her to read too much into it—not when my mind was somewhere else entirely. Still, I could feel myself hesitate, hoping I didn't give anything away. I shook my head, hardly getting me words out. I mean I don't want to hurt her ego or anything.

'well, er, the thing is I don-'

'Okay okay, gosh. You're making me feel hella ugly here.' Hayeon laughed, playfully.

'You are cute,' I said, 'in your own way.'

'You're trying to comfort me now?'

'a little'

'pftt, let me see the bracelet again. We're just friends right?'

'yeah of course.'

'okay great. 8000 won please.'

'what?'

'i'm selling this on Instagram. Since you're my friend, you're buying this.'

'You're selling this? No one's gonna buy this.' making Hayeon hit me, 'OKAY IM JOKING'
