No one's POV

The dim streetlights flickered as Yooyeon crouched low, eyes skimming the uneven floor. Her fingers swept across the ground, searching for the tiny object she'd dropped, frustration rising with every empty pass.

Yooyeon squinted at the ground, her fingers brushing against the cold grass. She cursed under her breath, the darkness making it nearly impossible to spot anything.

Just as she shifted to stand up, she collided with something—or rather, someone.

'Ah!'

"Ow!" A voice exclaimed in surprise.

Yooyeon stumbled back, blinking through the dim light, unable to make out the figure in front of her.

"Sorry!" Yooyeon blurted out, awkwardly bowing, though the other person couldn't see it.

"It's okay," the girl replied with a soft laugh.

'Oh it's you. Gosh, get out of my way will you?'

'1 second ago you apologized with that awfully polite voice, where's that gone?' Seoyeon scoffed in reply, 'what are you looking for anyways?'

'my earphones'

'what colour? I'll help'

'No need. I can do it myself.'

'Well I know you can, I just want to help. What colour is it?'

'Black.'

'Well that's not easy to find..'

They moved slowly across the field, their eyes scanning the dimly lit street for any sign of the tiny earphones.

"Why are these things always so hard to find?" Yooyeon muttered under her breath.

'Right? It's like they disappear into another dimensio-' Seoyeon stopped in her tracks after she heard a slight crunch under her feet, 'It was probably a leaf', she told Yooyeon reassuringly.

Lifting her foot, it revealed the earphone, cracked on the grass. She looked straight up at Yooyeon, who stared at her foot, inhaling, to keep in her anger.

She sighed and gave it back to Yooyeon, 'sorry..'

'See? The two of us shouldn't get close to eachother', kissing her teeth.

Later that night

Yooyeon's POV

Just as I was about to settle down, there was a knock. It was soft at first, but distinct enough to startle me. Alone in the stillness of her room, I hesitated, staring at the door.

Another knock. This time, louder.

'Coming..' I peered through the peephole and sighed before opening the door.

'what now?' I asked.

'You can use these for now', my neighbour said, handing me a pair of navy earphones.

'No it's fine.'

'Just take it. You need it for our song.'

'No.'

She reached out to take my hand, placing the earphones into my palm. 'Take it. You can't bring down our band just because of headphones.'

'okay. Thanks', I said, looking down at the headphones, 'Hey. Seoyeon!'

She's already entered my room. 'Seoyeon! I never let you enter my room. Seoyeon.'

'Oh wow, your room is spacious.'
