A short fight

Luffy had many training sessions of his own. When he was 7 years old his grandpa---garp, threw a crocodile at him in order for him so survive. But in the end as long as he could kill it and eat it, he will end up with a reward.
And later he met his two non-biological brothers, but it doesn't matter if you are blood related or not, as long as you feel like they are your brothers.

With Ace and Sabo he hunted animals too, they fought together, went through hard times but most of all they shared a good bond.

However one had to sacrifice himself to save the other two.

This though feels more different. Different, good. And luffy wanted to experience what it all felt like. He knew sabo would be proud of him.

Back to the present.

"Allow me to reiterate--the creatures here are willy and their tricks are endless...and deadly this is not their whim, but the basis of their entire ecosystem. That's why it is called the 'swindler's swamp' "
The strawhat looked up blankly at him, not understanding one word coming out of his mouth. When can they begin? His patience is wearing thin.

"Follow me closely and stay focused. If you don't you're lost"

Finally, they started.

That's what luffy thought as he heard someone shout ;

"That's a lie! He's lying!"

Suddenly, a man appeared looking disoriented, holding his injured side in pain. His face full of bruises.

"He's an imposter!! He's not the examiner!! I'm the real examiner!"

Now luffy might not be the brightest, but he knew for sure that, the man is a random guy. His emotional intelligence worked at a cue, the moment that guy appeared.

He just watched this all involve, not wanting to do something yet.

"An imposter?!..but..."

"Then who--or what is he?!"

"I'll show you!!" Out of nowhere his hand reached something, and that was a dead corpse of the one and only

Old man stato? Eh he didn't remember it, but now's not the time.

"He's one of the wetlands creatures--the man-faced ape!"

"Oh he's a monkey?" Luffy asked, no one answered him.

Nami just shaked her head at him in disappointment, while ussop facepalmed.
The others  were just too invested in this to react.

"They lust after fresh human flesh, but are too weak of limp to capture prey on their own. So they disguise themselves
.blah blah blah blah blah"

And he grew bored once again, that he didn't listen at the rest of his sentence. His stomach grumbled, he looked at it in desperation.

Meat..

Cards were spread out. Not that luffy was familiar with it. Sure, he played before with cards, but these are not the ones he knew.
Maybe because they're in a different..what did they say? World?

Oh well, so anyway the man that talked fell down as the cards hit him, it cut like steel. His tongue hung over as he layed dead.

The teenager did not know what just happened, everything happened in a blink. So he just shook his head looking at his friends. They look equally as confused.
Satotz took the cards himself. As hisoka threw it at both of them.

"Heh heh I see"
The weird clown guy said.

"Now we know He's the real thing"

"Examiners are hunters who do this, without pay, at the request of the judging committee" and...here we go again more talking. Luffy grew frustrated, he had enough of talking already let's get to action!
