Author's Note: Bakugou never bullied Izuku. Inko was killed in a random convenience store robbery, which is one of the main factors that inspired Izuku to pursue vigilantism.

Izuku was sitting in the dorm commons, quietly doing his homework with Todoroki and Shinso. It was an ordinary Friday night, near the end of his first month living in the dorms.

Izuku had been moonlighting as a vigilante for the past two years, and was finally caught by the police recently. Upon seeing his age they had given him the option of attending UA's hero course to become a hero legally. Naturally, with his only other option being juvie, Izuku agreed immediately.

The UA dorms were a serious improvement over his previous living conditions, considering he used to live in an abandoned building. The other students were all very accepting of his circumstances and the teachers treated him fairly, a far cry from his unpleasant middle school experience. His dorm room was right next to Katsuki's which worked out well considering the two of them were inseparable until Izuku's mother passed away. After that Izuku had bounced between foster homes for a while until finally running away after being saddled with too many bad experiences regarding the system.

Katsuki was also the only one who knew the secret of his quirk, aside from Izuku's father who had gone missing while working overseas.

Still, living in the dorms had a few inconveniences. Mainly, his inability to leave. Izuku thought it would be easy to escape when he accepted the deal, but that turned out not to be the case.

Class 1A had had problems with a group of villain's called the LOV, said group repeatedly attacking the school. As a result of this, devices had been installed that prevented warp or teleportation quirks from working. Even without his teleportation quirk, Izuku had attempted to sneak out the regular way, but this posed many problems as well. There were cameras and sensors everywhere, so Izuku was still plotting a path around all of them.

It was becoming a problem.

Now, the reason Izuku wants to leave so badly. He enjoys living in the dorms, he really does. It's not like he wants to run away or anything like that. He just needs to be able to leave for one night every month. Just one night.

Izuku's quirk is a bit different from what the UA staff and police believe it to be. They think he has a simple enhancement quirk. One that increases all of his basic abilities by a large percentage. But that isn't the case. Izuku does have a quirk that does that, but it isn't his main quirk. It isn't the one he was born with.

Izuku was born with a strange, powerful quirk. He could take the quirks of others. But the drawback is that he needed to take them. They were like his food source. If he didn't then Izuku would slowly starve to death. It almost happened once, when his quirk first came in. Izuku didn't entirely understand it, and neither did his father. His mother never knew his real quirk, and thought he had a pyrokinesis quirk. That lie was to protect her, and to protect Izuku and his father. No one could know who they really are. Even Izuku didn't know much about his father, other than his quirk and that his identity is a secret.

That first month after Izuku got his quirk was the toughest. Not only did he have to constantly lie to his mother, but he was hungry all the time. It became painful after a while, and Izuku even began losing weight. That was when his father figured it out, so things didn't get as bad as they could have.

Izuku inherited his quirk from his father, but there were two differences. The first being his aforementioned need to consume quirks being physical rather than mental like his father's. The second difference was the way he took quirks. His father simply had to place his hand atop somebody's head and their quirk would be his. Not Izuku though, he had to drink their blood. The manifestation of his quirk came with two tiny fangs and predatory blood red eyes. These traits coupled with his naturally fair complexion rendered him almost vampire-like in appearance.
